Trent Taylor CHI WR49ers' Trent Taylor: Returns to The Bay
2h agoTaylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
Taylor started his career in San Francisco before a two-year stay with the Bengals and spending the 2023 campaign with the Bears. The 29-year-old will likely have the opportunity to earn a role in the return game with the departure of Ray-Ray McCloud in free agency this offseason.

Trent Taylor: Could return to The Bay
3h agoTaylor has talked to the 49ers about a potential return to the team this offseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Taylor was selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2017 Draft and spent three seasons there before stops in Cincinnati and Chicago. The 49ers do currently have a void in their return game, with Ray-Ray McCloud now in Atlanta, which is likely where the interest in Taylor lies.

4h agoWatson (shoulder) said Tuesday he's already resumed "throwing full speed" but that he's uncertain how large a workload he'll handle during OTAs and minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson clarified that certain members of the Browns' medical staff are in favor of a more conservative approach to the quarterback's recovery from right shoulder surgery, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, which would wait until training camp to have him fully practice. Still, Watson has been fully forthright in his confidence to be available for the Browns' season opener, and there appear to be no real worries about his Week 1 status. In case Watson misses part of the offseason, or struggles during the fall, Cleveland can lean on newly-signed, experienced backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

5h agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

6h agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.

6h agoDecker said Tuesday he underwent foot/ankle surgery this offseason and resumed working out mid-February, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Decker appears already recovered from his offseason procedure. The 30-year-old left tackle missed only two regular-season games last season while suiting up for all three of Detroit's postseason contests. Now heading into the final year of his contract, Decker is still playing at a high level.

11m agoFreeland (shoulder) feels fine Tuesday and will have his usual throwing session before his next turn through the rotation, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
The left-hander was used as a pinch runner Monday since the Rockies have a short-handed bench, and he suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder on a play at the plate. Thankfully it's a minor issue and won't affect Freeland's preparation for his next start, which lines up for this weekend versus Seattle.

The 29-year-old saw his first plate appearances of the season Monday, going 1-for-3 with two strikeouts, and is now poised for more playing time after Ozzie Albies (toe) was placed on the injured list Tuesday. Guillorme could fill the large side of a platoon at second base along with David Fletcher, who replaced Albies on the major-league roster.

29m agoThe Orioles placed Wells on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
The assignment to the 15-day injured list is retroactive to April 13. Wells allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over four innings with three strikeouts in his last outing Friday. It was his second loss of the season as he fell to 0-2. The 29-year-old was supposed to start Wednesday, so the Orioles will have to make another move or fill in the spot with someone on the roster.

A rematch against New Orleans pits Davis versus Zion Williamson and Jonas Valanciunas, while Davis has averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 blocks across four contests versus the Pelicans this season.

James has been upgraded from probable to available Tuesday despite dealing with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy. The superstar forward averaged 31.0 points, 12.5 assists, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks in 37.5 minutes across his two appearances against New Orleans this season.

Thomas made a strong first impression in the NHL with three goals, one assist, nine shots on goal and eight hits over seven games despite averaging 8:44 of ice time per contest. He'll still lose his roster spot to Alex Turcotte (upper body), who was activated from long-term injured reserve. It's possible Thomas stays in the AHL, as the Reign are set to begin a playoff run, but he should get a chance to compete for a roster spot for 2024-25.

If Stutzle heals up in time, he could still join Germany for the IIHF World Championship.
