Royce Freeman LAR RB
Cowboys' Royce Freeman: Picked up by Dallas
11h agoFreeman signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Freeman spent his first three seasons with the Broncos before before stops with the Panthers, Texans and Rams the last three years. The journeyman tallied 319 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Los Angeles last year across 14 games. Dallas lost Tony Pollard to free agency, so the running back room is currently filled with the likes of Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn (ankle), Malik Davis and Snoop Conner. Thus, Freeman will presumably have an opportunity to carve out a role for himself. However, the team could still opt to invest at the position in the draft.

Trent Taylor CHI WR
49ers' Trent Taylor: Returns to The Bay
15h agoTaylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
Taylor started his career in San Francisco before a two-year stay with the Bengals and spending the 2023 campaign with the Bears. The 29-year-old will likely have the opportunity to earn a role in the return game with the departure of Ray-Ray McCloud in free agency this offseason.

Trent Taylor CHI WR
Trent Taylor: Could return to The Bay
15h agoTaylor has talked to the 49ers about a potential return to the team this offseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Taylor was selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2017 Draft and spent three seasons there before stops in Cincinnati and Chicago. The 49ers do currently have a void in their return game, with Ray-Ray McCloud now in Atlanta, which is likely where the interest in Taylor lies.

Deshaun Watson CLE QB
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Throwing full speed
17h agoWatson (shoulder) said Tuesday he's already resumed "throwing full speed" but that he's uncertain how large a workload he'll handle during OTAs and minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson clarified that certain members of the Browns' medical staff are in favor of a more conservative approach to the quarterback's recovery from right shoulder surgery, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, which would wait until training camp to have him fully practice. Still, Watson has been fully forthright in his confidence to be available for the Browns' season opener, and there appear to be no real worries about his Week 1 status. In case Watson misses part of the offseason, or struggles during the fall, Cleveland can lean on newly-signed, experienced backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

Odell Beckham Jr. BAL WR
Odell Beckham: Nothing imminent with Miami
18h agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

Jaylen Waddle MIA WR
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Fifth-year option to be exercised
18h agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.

Carlos Rodon NYY SP
Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Bounced by Blue Jays
2m agoRodon (1-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks over four innings as the Yankees fell 5-4 to Toronto. He struck out five.
The veteran southpaw kept the ball in the park, but he needed 101 pitches (62 strikes) to record 12 outs in an uneven performance. Rodon has failed to last five innings in two of his first four starts this season, posting a 3.66 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB through 19.2 innings, but he lines up for a plum assignment at home in his next trip to the mound, which should come early next week against the A's.
-
Richard Palacios TB RF
Rays' Richie Palacios: Productive in Tuesday's win
9m agoPalacios went 2-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Angels.
The 26-year-old outfielder produced his third multi-hit performance in his last four starts, a stretch in which Palacios is batting .368 (7-for-19). Despite the surge, time is ticking on his stint as a regular part of the Tampa Bay lineup, as Josh Lowe (oblique) is set to begin a rehab assignment later this week. Through 44 plate appearances this season, Palacios is slashing .270/.386/.378 with one homer, one steal, two RBI and six runs.
-
Jesse Winker WAS LF
Nationals' Jesse Winker: Clubs two-run homer
11m agoWinker went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a double in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Winker was the only one in the Nationals' lineup with multiple hits, as he accounted for six total bases while the rest of his teammates combined for four. He doubled his first time up but missed out on an RBI chance after CJ Abrams was thrown out at home and then took Ryan Yarbrough deep to right in the third for his second long ball of the year. Winker struggled to find much production with his bat over the last two seasons in Seattle and Milwaukee but is off to a blistering start this year, hitting .373/.500/.608 with five RBI, 11 runs and a 9:10 BB:K in 64 plate appearances.
-
Aaron Civale TB SP
Rays' Aaron Civale: Fans eight in quality start
15m agoCivale came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Angels, giving up three runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.
The right-hander tossed 65 of 101 pitches for strikes and generated 31 called or swinging strikes, but homers by Mickey Moniak and Logan O'Hoppe in the fourth inning had Civale in line for his second loss of the year until the Rays rallied in the ninth inning, eventually winning in the 13th. Civale has delivered three quality starts in his first four trips to the mound this season, and he'll carry a 2.74 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 26:4 K:BB through 23 innings into his next outing, which is schedule to come on the road this weekend against the Yankees.
-
Kyle McCann OAK C
Athletics' Kyle McCann: Swats first career home run
19m agoMcCann went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.
McCann plated the only two runs of the evening for the Athletics. He gave them an early lead with an RBI-single in the second and then put them back in front in the fifth with a blast to right off Lance Lynn. McCann has appeared in just four games so far this season as the team's backup catcher and all three of his hits have come in his last six at-bats.
-
Zachary Neto LAA SS
Angels' Zach Neto: Two steals in Tampa Bay
21m agoNeto went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Rays.
The Angels turned on the jets once Rene Pinto took over behind the plate for the Rays in the ninth inning, with Neto collecting both his steals in the late innings as part of a 5-for-6 performance on the basepaths by Los Angeles on the night. The shortstop has struggled out of the gate this season -- the 23-year-old hasn't had a multi-hit game since April 6, and through 16 contests he's slashing .179/.258/.232 with zero homers, three runs, six RBI and three steals in five attempts. Neto's 29.0 percent strikeout rate is also a significant step back from the 23.4 percent mark he posted as a rookie.

Kessler Edwards SAC SF
Kings' Kessler Edwards: Logs garbage time minutes in win
6h agoEdwards ended with one rebound in two minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game win over the Warriors.
Edwards closed the game Tuesday, handed a couple of garbage time minutes as the Kings eliminated the Warriors. It's been a disappointing season for Edwards and given his limited role, it is hard to see him featuring too much, even if the Kings advance to the playoffs.
-
Keon Ellis SAC SG
Kings' Keon Ellis: Shines bright in victory
6h agoEllis recorded 15 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game victory over the Warriors.
Ellis continued his improbable rise Tuesday, helping the Kings to a comfortable victory over the Warriors. He has been a revelation on the defensive end for Sacramento, highlighted once again by his six combined steals and blocks. They will now face the Pelicans in a do-or-die contest with a spot in the playoffs up for grabs.
-
Keegan Murray SAC PF
Kings' Keegan Murray: Leads all scorers in win
6h agoMurray ended with 32 points (10-20 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds and two steals over 39 minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game win over the Warriors.
Murray torched the Warriors to the tune of 32 points, including eight three-pointers. The Kings led from start to finish, sending Golden State home in emphatic fashion. They will now head to New Orleans where the Pelicans await, with both teams trying to secure the eighth and final playoff spot.
-
Moses Moody GS SF
Warriors' Moses Moody: Plays well off bench
6h agoMoody contributed 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 15 minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game loss to Sacramento.
Moody was arguably the best player on the court for Golden State on a night that saw their season come to an end. After an unconvincing start to the season, Moody was able to carve out a meaningful role down the stretch, perhaps an indication that he could be in for an uptick in playing time next year. Whatever direction the coaching staff chooses, it is clear they need to lean into their youth with their veteran core now well beyond their best.
-
Trayce Jackson-Davis GS C
Warriors' Trayce Jackson-Davis: Rough night despite start
6h agoJackson-Davis amassed two points (1-1 FG) and one rebound in 11 minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game loss to Sacramento.
Jackson-Davis got the starting nod Tuesday but was limited to just 11 minutes in the loss. He was simply outclassed here, resulting in the Warriors leaning more into their veterans in an attempt to get the victory. While it has been a disappointing season for Golden State, Jackson-Davis has been a positive, carving out a consistent role on a team in need of a youth movement.
-
Klay Thompson GS SG
Warriors' Klay Thompson: Ice cold in loss
6h agoThompson produced zero points (0-10 FG, 0-6 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game loss to the Kings.
Thompson turned in arguably his worst performance of the season as the Warriors' disappointing season came to an end at the hands of the Kings. Despite a few bright spots throughout the year, it appears Thompson's days of being a reliable offensive threat could be behind him. His future remains a little clouded but no matter where he is next season, it is unlikely he will have much fantasy value outside of points and threes.

Shayne Gostisbehere DET D
Red Wings' Shayne Gostisbehere: Two helpers in regular-season finale
12m agoGostisbehere registered six shots on goal and two assists in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Canadiens to conclude the 2023-24 campaign.
Gostisbehere was the primary distributor on Joe Veleno's second-period goal, and the puck-moving defenseman found David Perron for the game-tying tally with just five seconds remaining in regulation. The Red Wings earned the win they desperately needed, but the Capitals defeating the Flyers minutes beforehand caused the Wings to fall just short of a playoff berth. Gostisbehere ended up with 10 goals, 46 assists and a whopping 29 power-play points through 81 games for his debut campaign in Detroit. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent.
-
Lucas Raymond DET LW
Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Strong finish to season
30m agoRaymond posted an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Canadiens to finish the 2023-24 season.
Raymond was Detroit's best player in April, as he delivered seven goals and 12 points total through eight contests. Fans of the Winged Wheel were given a renewed sense of hope that their team would be playoff bound in large part to Raymond's game-tying goal against the Penguins last Thursday and his overtime tally versus the Habs on Monday, but the Capitals snuck into the postseason instead by virtue of beating the Flyers in the regular-season finale. Raymond's third season included 31 goals, 41 assists and 16 power-play points through 82 games. He will be a restricted free agent this summer.

Ilya Solovyov CGY D
Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Picks up helper
5h agoSolovyov notched an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.
This was Solovyov's first point in three outings during this stint on the NHL roster. The 23-year-old defenseman has three helpers, eight shots on net, 10 hits and 14 blocked shots over nine appearances in his first taste of the NHL this season. Solovyov will likely have a chance to win a full-time job in training camp in the fall.
-
Nazem Kadri CGY C
Flames' Nazem Kadri: Posts assist in loss
6h agoKadri registered an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.
Kadri has seven points over his last three outings and 16 points across his last 11 games. He set up Brayden Pachal for the Flames' lone tally in Tuesday's loss. Kadri is up to 29 goals, 46 helpers, 269 shots on net, 57 hits and a minus-1 rating through 81 contests as Calgary's top forward this season.
-
Brayden Pachal CGY D
Flames' Brayden Pachal: Nets lone goal in loss
6h agoPachal scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.
Pachal broke up Thatcher Demko's shutout bid midway through the third period. The defenseman has two points over his last three games, but Pachal has struggled to generate consistent offense even with more playing time as a Flame. For the season, he has two goals, seven points, 51 shots on net, 130 hits, 63 blocked shots, 51 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 49 appearances between Calgary and Vegas.
-
Jacob Markstrom CGY G
Flames' Jacob Markstrom: Falls to former team
6h agoMarkstrom allowed four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.
The Flames' offense went cold against a tough opponent, leaving Markstrom with his fourth straight loss. The 34-year-old goalie dropped to 23-23-2 with a 2.78 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 49 contests this season. The Flames host the Sharks on Thursday to finish the campaign, but the team hasn't announced if Markstrom or Dustin Wolf will start the finale.
