Josiah Deguara GB TE
Jaguars' Josiah Deguara: Inking with Jacksonville
23m agoThe Jaguars are slated to sign Deguara to a one-year contract Thursday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Deguara spent the last four seasons handling a depth role in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the third round back in 2020. His versatility both as a blocker and on special teams will boost his chances of earning playing time behind Evan Engram, but Deguara peaked with a 25-245-2 receiving line in 2021 and doesn't appear to have much fantasy potential.

J.K. Dobbins BAL RB
J.K. Dobbins: Lines up visit with Chargers
2h agoDobbins (Achilles) is visiting Los Angeles on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Dobbins, who was recently medically cleared for football activities, is coming off a left Achilles tear after previously missing all of 2021 and about half of the 2022 season due to a torn ACL and proceeding issues. That medical history undercuts otherwise impressive career numbers for Dobbins, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020 as a second-round pick by the Ravens, but only suited up for 24 games in that span. Reuniting with offensive coordinator Greg Roman could make the most sense as a landing spot for Dobbins, but it's possible he doesn't garner more interest than a potential prove-it deal. The Chargers and Roman signed Gus Edwards,a former Baltimore backfield mate of Dobbins, early in free agency.

Derek Stingley Jr. HOU CB
Texans' Derek Stingley: Slow start, strong finish
2h agoStingley recorded 39 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions over 11 regular-season games in 2023.
Stingley, a second-year cornerback and 2022 first-round draft pick, suffered a Week 3 hamstring that created issues for the defense early on, but upon his return Week 10, Stingley made an impact. He had interceptions in three straight games, including the Week 13 win over the Broncos. Stingley will return as Houston's top cornerback in 2024.
-
DeAndre Houston-Carson HOU DB
DeAndre Houston-Carson: Enters free agency
2h agoHouston-Carson recorded 41 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery over 13 regular-season games in 2023.
Houston-Carson started the season in Baltimore then finished up in Houston, where he played a career-high 447 snaps on defense. Injuries on the back end led to Houston-Carson playing a big role for the Texans, including two pivotal plays in a Week 10 win over the Bengals. He entered unrestricted free agency during the offseason.
-
Jimmie Ward HOU SAF
Texans' Jimmie Ward: Injury-marred 2023
3h agoWard (quadriceps) recorded 50 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble over 10 games in 2023.
Ward, a team captain, was beset by injuries all season long. He missed time due to hip, hamstring and shoulder injuries before a quadricep ended his season in December. In between the setbacks, Ward played well, and his one interception was an end-zone pick that sealed a win over Denver. Houston went 6-4 in games he played and could use his stabilizing presence on the back end. Ward turns 33 in July and will be entering his 11th season.
-
Henry To'oTo'o HOU LB
Texans' Henry To'oTo'o: Contributes in rookie season
3h agoTo'oTo'o recorded 61 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 15 regular-season games in 2023.
To'oTo'o, a fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama, started from Week 2 to Week 7 and played in both of Houston's playoff games during his rookie season. The Texans lost two linebackers to free agency -- Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman -- which leaves To'oTo'o as a projected starter for 2024. However, Houston is expected to address the position during the offseason.

Michael Massey KC 2B
Royals' Michael Massey: Heads to IL
3m agoThe Royals placed Massey (back) on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Massey experienced lower-back tightness a little over a week ago and hadn't played in any Cactus League games since March 16, so his move to the IL to begin the season was fully expected. Per MLB.com, Massey has been limited to playing light catch since the injury cropped up, but the Royals still aren't anticipating him stay on the IL to be a lengthy one. He'll remain behind at the Royals' spring facility in Arizona to continue ramping back up and will first be eligible for activation April 4, though it may be a stretch for him to make it back by that date.
-
Jacob Brentz KC RP
Royals' Jake Brentz: To IL with hamstring strain
6m agoThe Royals placed Brentz (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Brentz suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in mid-March. The injury will likely keep him sidelined for the first several weeks of the season.
-
Josh Taylor KC RP
Royals' Josh Taylor: Goes on injured list
9m agoThe Royals placed Taylor (biceps) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Taylor dealt with back and biceps issues this spring but pitched well when healthy. It's not clear how long the biceps injury might keep the left-handed reliever on the shelf.
-
Carlos Hernandez KC RP
Royals' Carlos Hernandez: Lands on 15-day injured list
12m agoThe Royals placed Hernandez on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder inflammation, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Hernandez missed all of spring training with the shoulder issue. He resumed mound work about a week ago, but there's no timetable for his return to the active roster.
-
Angel Perdomo ATL RP
Braves' Angel Perdomo: Goes on 15-day IL
15m agoAtlanta placed Perdomo (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Perdomo is recovering from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last fall and is likely to eventually be shifted to the 60-day IL when Atlanta needs to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. He's not expected to be ready to pitch in games until 2025.
-
Zack Weiss MIN RP
Twins' Zack Weiss: IL move official
24m agoThe Twins placed Weiss (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.
As expected, Weiss won't be part of the Twins' season-opening bullpen while he recovers from a right shoulder strain. Once activated, Weiss will likely be in line for low-leverage relief work.
-
Garrett Temple TOR SF
Raptors' Garrett Temple: Chips in 15 off bench Wednesday
19m agoTemple totaled 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 145-101 loss to the Knicks.
The 37-year-old wing has seen a significant role in the Raptors' injury-ravaged rotation over the last week, and Temple's 15 points and six boards were both season highs. With RJ Barrett (conditioning) and Immanuel Quickley (conditioning) both about to rejoin the lineup, however, Temple will likely be the first player bumped to the end of the bench for the rebuilding team.
-
Kelly Olynyk TOR PF
Raptors' Kelly Olynyk: Teases triple-double against Knicks
22m agoOlynyk logged 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and eight assists in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 145-101 loss to New York.
The veteran center has dished 27 assists over the last three games as the Raptors run the offense through him in the absence of Immanuel Quickley (personal). Since moving into the starting lineup in early March to replace Jakob Poeltl (finger), Olynyk has averaged 13.7 points, 5.7 assists, 5.6 boards, 1.2 steals, 1.1 threes and 0.8 blocks over the last 12 contests, and Poeltl's chances of returning before the end of the regular season are shrinking with each Toronto loss.
-
Gradey Dick TOR SG
Raptors' Gradey Dick: Pops for career-high 23 in loss
26m agoDick finished Wednesday's 145-101 loss to the Knicks with 23 points (10-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt) and one rebound in 30 minutes.
The rookie guard led the Raptors in scoring while setting a new career high as he made his 10th straight start for the injury-ravaged club. Dick has only scored in double digits five times over that stretch, displaying some unsurprising consistency issues, but the 13th overall pick in the 2023 Draft has mostly held up well with the extra usage and has averaged 12.6 points, 2.6 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.8 threes during that stretch while playing 31.9 minutes a contest. With Immanuel Quickley (conditioning) and RJ Barrett (conditioning) both on the cusp of rejoining the lineup though, Dick's workload could be reduced even if remains in the starting five.
-
Bojan Bogdanovic NY SF
Knicks' Bojan Bogdanovic: Efficient night from second unit
36m agoBogdanovic recorded 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt), one rebound and two assists in 16 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 145-101 win over Toronto.
The 34-year-old forward didn't need to do too much in the rout, but he took advantage of his opportunities. Bogdanovic is still capable of supplying some instant offense from the second unit, but he's had an inconsistent March, scoring in double digits only five times in 12 games and shooting just 34.0 percent (17-for-50) from three-point range.
-
Andre Jackson Jr. MIL SF
Bucks' Andre Jackson: Returns to NBA
38m agoThe Bucks recalled Jackson from the G League's Wisconsin Herd on Thursday.
Jackson will return to the NBA after a brief stint in the G League. However, the rookie forward is unlikely to receive significant playing time for Milwaukee.
-
Donte DiVincenzo NY SG
Knicks' Donte DiVincenzo: Drains five threes Wednesday
39m agoDiVincenzo accumulated 16 points (5-12 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 145-101 victory over the Raptors.
It was another big night from beyond the arc for DiVincenzo, who has buried multiple three-pointers in 30 straight games. Through 12 contests in March, the 27-year-old guard has averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 boards, 4.4 threes, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks while attempting nearly 12 shots a game (11.9) from three-point range.
-
Alex Nedeljkovic PIT G
Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: First goalie off Thursday
14m agoNedeljkovic was the first goalie to leave the ice Thursday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus Columbus.
Nedeljkovic will be making his third straight start, coming off a 38-save victory over the Hurricanes on Tuesday. For the year, the 28-year-old Ohio native is sporting an 11-6-5 record to go with a 2.91 GAA and .906 save percentage. A strong finish to the season should help Nedeljkovic's chances of securing a more long-term contract this offseason after playing this year on a one-year deal.
-
Anthony Stolarz FLA G
Panthers' Anthony Stolarz: Facing Islanders
25m agoStolarz will be between the home pipes versus the Islanders on Thursday, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports.
Stolarz is a perfect 6-0-0 since Feb. 15, providing the Panthers with outstanding backup goaltending when Sergei Bobrovsky needs a rest. Overall, Stolarz is 14-5-2 with an eye-popping 1.97 GAA and an equally as good .927 save percentage in 2023-24. He is 1-1-0 versus the Islanders this season -- turning aside 44 of 50 shots.
-
Jakob Chychrun OTT D
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Another two points Wednesday
1h agoChychrun grabbed a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Buffalo.
Chychrun extended Ottawa's lead to 4-0 at the 8:49 mark of the opening period, firing a slapshot past Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, before adding an assist on Shane Pinto's empty-netter in the third. The 25-year-old Chychrun now has three goals and four points in his last two games after logging just two assists in his previous 18 contests. He's up to 12 goals and 36 points through 71 games in his first full season with the Senators.
-
Jacob Bryson BUF D
Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Two helpers in loss
1h agoBryson recorded a pair of assists in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Senators.
Bryson was involved in both of Buffalo's second-period goals, setting up John-Jason Peterka's tally early in the frame before adding a second assist on a Connor Clifton marker. It's just the second multi-point game this season for Bryson, who had one point (an assist) in seven games prior to Wednesday. Overall, the 26-year-old blueliner has eight points (one goal, seven assists) through 27 games in a bottom-pairing role.
-
Drake Batherson OTT RW
Senators' Drake Batherson: Two more points Wednesday
1h agoBatherson notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Batherson extended Ottawa's lead to 3-0 just six minutes into the first period, following up his own rebound before sneaking a backhander past Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Batherson would add a second point with an assist on Shane Pinto's empty-netter in the third. The 25-year-old winger now has goals in three straight games and 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his last 11 contests. He's up to 26 goals and 57 points, five shy of a career high, through 71 games this season while skating on the Senators' top line.
-
Tyler Kleven OTT D
Senators' Tyler Kleven: Called up from minors
2h agoKleven was elevated from AHL Belleville on Thursday.
Kleven's promotion doesn't bode well for the availability of Thomas Chabot (lower body) against the Blackhawks on Thursday. Even with Kleven joining the team, he is far from a lock for a spot in the lineup, as Travis Hamonic figures to have the inside track if called upon. Still, Kleven does offer some offensive upside with 17 points in 45 minor-league contests this season.
