Saints' Shemar Jean-Charles: Back in Big Easy
    6h ago

Jean-Charles re-signed with the Saints on Monday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.

Jean-Charles was not tendered by New Orleans as a restricted free agent, but he will return to the team nonetheless. After spending his first two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old suited up for eight games between the 49ers and Saints in 2023. He accumulated four tackles (three solo) in the process. The Appalachian State product will now look to make an impression during offseason workouts.

Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Sticks in Green Bay as ERFA
    8h ago

The Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring potential additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

    Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Fully healthy
    8h ago

Crosby (knee) said, "I'm feeling better than I ever have," Monday, after he spent much of 2023 fighting through a knee injury that required draining multiple times a week, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.

Crosby set career highs in combined tackles (90) and sacks (14.5) last season despite spending much of the campaign hampered by a bursa joint issue. The 26-year-old underwent a procedure to correct it in January after the season ended and began rehabbing it soon after, which went "incredible," according to Crosby.

Chiefs' Rashee Rice: Expected to participate in virtual meetings

Coach Andy Reid indicated Monday that Rice is expected to remotely participate in the initial stage of the Chiefs' voluntary offseason program via virtual meetings, NFL.com reports.

Per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, Rice -- who is is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury stemming from his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month -- turned himself in to police last week and was subsequently released on bond. • Ross Stripling OAK SP
Athletics' Ross Stripling: Falls to 0-4
    5m ago

Stripling (0-4) took the loss against St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings.

Though Stripling picked up his fourth straight loss to begin the campaign -- tied with Luis Castillo for most in the league -- he at least managed to improve upon the six-run, 11-hit performance he posted his previous time on the mound. The right-hander gave up a season-low six hits Monday and came one out away from a quality start, but he garnered only one run of support from Oakland's offense. Stripling has given the A's decent length this season by averaging nearly six innings per start, but he's well off the fantasy radar in standard leagues given his poor overall numbers.

Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Notches fifth save
    1h ago

Helsley earned a save against the Athletics on Monday, striking out two batters in a perfect inning of work.

Helsley had no trouble slamming the door on Oakland in the bottom of the ninth frame, retiring the side on just 10 pitches, four of which were swinging strikes. After blowing his first save chance of the campaign against the Dodgers on March 30, the right-hander has been successful on each of his subsequent six attempts, and he's held the opponent scoreless in seven of his past eight outings. On the season, Helsley has an impressive 11:1 K:BB over nine innings.

Cardinals' Sonny Gray: Tosses six scoreless frames Monday
    1h ago

Gray (2-0) earned the victory over Oakland on Monday, pitching six scoreless innings during which he allowed four hits and no walks while striking out six batters.

Gray needed just 72 pitches (50 of which were strikes) to get through six frames but wasn't allowed to go deeper since he's still getting fully ramped up. After opening the campaign on the injured list due to a hamstring injury, the veteran hurler has dominated in his first two starts, pitching 11 scoreless frames while racking up an 11:0 K:BB. Gray has won both of those outings, getting off to a promising beginning in his quest for his first double-digit win season since 2019.

Warriors' Draymond Green: Cleared for Play-In Tournament

Green (knee) will play Tuesday versus Sacramento.

Green and Stephen Curry (ankle) have both been removed from Monday's injury report, while Gary Payton (calf) is officially inactive. Malik Monk (knee) and Kevin Huerter (shoulder) represent notable absences for Sacramento, although there should still be no shortage of drama, as three of Golden State's four regular-season meetings versus the Kings this year were decided by exactly one point.

Warriors' Stephen Curry: Removed from injury report

Curry (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Tuesday's Play-In Tournament game against Sacramento.

Curry and Draymond Green (knee) have both been cleared for action Tuesday, leaving Gary Payton (calf) as the Warriors' lone absence. Golden State will be traveling to Sacramento for Tuesday's showdown, returning to the scene of the crime where Curry dropped 50 points (20-38 FG, 7-18 3Pt) in a victorious Game 7 of last year's first-round series between these teams. Additionally, Curry averaged 31.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in four games against the Kings this season.

    Lakers' Jarred Vanderbilt: Remains out

Vanderbilt (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Play-In Game against the Pelicans.

Vanderbilt's defensive efforts were a key part of the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals last season. However, he has been unavailable for most of 2023-24, playing just 29 regular-season games (six appearances). Vanderbilt hasn't played since Feb. 1, so his continued absence shouldn't impact coach Darvin Ham's rotation.

Granlund provided an assist and went minus-2 in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Oilers.

Granlund has two goals and 12 helpers during his 12-game point streak. Granlund keeping the streak alive was one of the few bright spots for the Sharks in one of their worst losses of a brutal season. He's now at 12 goals, 47 helpers, 133 shots on net, 61 hits, 55 blocked shots and a minus-21 rating through 68 appearances on the year.

He posted 54 points over 56 contests with AHL San Jose prior to his call-up. Gushchin has been given plenty of time to develop in the AHL, so he should have a chance at an NHL job in training camp in the fall.

Zetterlund scored a goal on two shots, added five hits and went minus-2 in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Oilers.

Zetterlund has three goals and five assists over his last nine outings. The 24-year-old's tally Monday was far too late to make a difference in the game, but it's good to see him still making an effort late in a lost season for the Sharks. He's at 23 goals, 43 points, 200 shots on net, 120 hits, 71 blocked shots and a minus-31 rating through 81 appearances.

Cooley allowed eight goals on 22 shots in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Oilers.

Cooley was pulled just over halfway through the second period, but the game was already long over. The 26-year-old has given up 20 goals over five appearances this season while salvaging a 2-2-1 record at the NHL level. He's not a particularly strong option for Thursday's game versus the Flames, but it's at least a better matchup than Monday's was.

Kulak posted an assist and two hits in Monday's 9-2 win over the Sharks.

Kulak has two helpers over his last six games. The 30-year-old defenseman doesn't tend to chip in much offense from a third-pairing role, which has occasionally led to him seeing limited minutes as well. He's produced 15 points, 88 shots on net, 83 blocked shots, 71 hits and a plus-3 rating over 80 appearances this season.
