Royce Freeman LAR RB
Cowboys' Royce Freeman: Picked up by Dallas
4h agoFreeman signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Freeman spent his first three seasons with the Broncos before before stops with the Panthers, Texans and Rams the last three years. The journeyman tallied 319 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Los Angeles last year across 14 games. Dallas lost Tony Pollard to free agency, so the running back room is currently filled with the likes of Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn (ankle), Malik Davis and Snoop Conner. Thus, Freeman will presumably have an opportunity to carve out a role for himself. However, the team could still opt to invest at the position in the draft.

Trent Taylor CHI WR
49ers' Trent Taylor: Returns to The Bay
7h agoTaylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
Taylor started his career in San Francisco before a two-year stay with the Bengals and spending the 2023 campaign with the Bears. The 29-year-old will likely have the opportunity to earn a role in the return game with the departure of Ray-Ray McCloud in free agency this offseason.

Trent Taylor CHI WR
Trent Taylor: Could return to The Bay
8h agoTaylor has talked to the 49ers about a potential return to the team this offseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Taylor was selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2017 Draft and spent three seasons there before stops in Cincinnati and Chicago. The 49ers do currently have a void in their return game, with Ray-Ray McCloud now in Atlanta, which is likely where the interest in Taylor lies.

Deshaun Watson CLE QB
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Throwing full speed
10h agoWatson (shoulder) said Tuesday he's already resumed "throwing full speed" but that he's uncertain how large a workload he'll handle during OTAs and minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson clarified that certain members of the Browns' medical staff are in favor of a more conservative approach to the quarterback's recovery from right shoulder surgery, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, which would wait until training camp to have him fully practice. Still, Watson has been fully forthright in his confidence to be available for the Browns' season opener, and there appear to be no real worries about his Week 1 status. In case Watson misses part of the offseason, or struggles during the fall, Cleveland can lean on newly-signed, experienced backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

Odell Beckham Jr. BAL WR
Odell Beckham: Nothing imminent with Miami
11h agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

Jaylen Waddle MIA WR
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Fifth-year option to be exercised
11h agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.
-
Jesus Sanchez MIA RF
Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Grabs fourth stolen base
9m agoSanchez went 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Giants.
Sanchez's four steals already mark a new career high -- he'd stolen three bags in each of his previous two seasons. While the 26-year-old outfielder may offer some value on the basepaths, Sanchez has struggled at the plate, going 6-for-35 (.171) with no extra-base hits and six RBI to start the season.
-
Garrett Whitlock BOS SP
Red Sox's Garrett Whitlock: Removal precautionary
10m agoWhitlock (oblique) said he was removed from Tuesday's game against Cleveland as a precaution, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Whitlock's oblique started bothering him during the third inning, and he was later removed from the game after pitching four frames. He also noted that his injury doesn't feel like something that will bother him enough to keep him from making his start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday -- but the Sox will continue to monitor his condition until then.
-
Kyle Tucker HOU RF
Astros' Kyle Tucker: Salvages day with late homer
10m agoTucker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta.
After going hitless in his first two at-bats, Tucker was well on his way to a third straight game without a hit. However, the outfielder managed to tag Aaron Bummer for a solo home run to kick off the bottom of the ninth. Through 19 games, Tucker is slashing .260/.372/.521 with five long balls while striking out at a 15 percent clip.
-
Bryan De La Cruz MIA LF
Marlins' Bryan De La Cruz: Swipes first bag
15m agoDe La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-3 win over San Francisco.
De La Cruz got Miami on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI double off Jordan Hicks. The outfielder would then swipe third base, his first steal of the year, before scoring on a Jesus Sanchez groundout. De La Cruz isn't likely to offer much in terms of stolen bases -- he had just four steals in each of his previous two campaigns. Still, De La Cruz has been swinging a hot bat, hitting safely in five straight games, going 7-for-21 with a homer and eight RBI in that span.
-
Orlando Arcia ATL SS
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Clubs first homer of 2024
18m agoArcia went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored during Tuesday's win over the Astros.
Arcia's put together seven multi-hit games thus far; however, it took the shortstop 16 games to notch his first long ball of the season. Despite the lack of home-run production, Arcia has still been putting up solid power numbers. He's generated seven doubles and boasts a .544 slugging percentage which, as it stands, would be a career high.
-
Ryan O'Hearn BAL DH
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Homers in third straight game
25m agoO'Hearn went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 11-3 win over Minnesota.
O'Hearn provided the final blow in a lopsided Orioles victory, smacking a two-run homer that just cleared the center field wall to extend Baltimore's lead to 11-3 in the eighth inning. O'Hearn's now homered in three straight games while going 6-for-13 in that span. Overall, he's slashing .333/.400/.689 with four homers, 11 runs scored and six RBI through his first 14 games this season.
-
Anthony Davis LAL C
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Clutch performance in win
1h agoDavis contributed 20 points (6-16 FG, 8-10 FT), 15 rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game victory over the Pelicans.
Davis was able to battle through back spasms in Tuesday's win and thinks the extra rest before Saturday's Game 1 against the Nuggets will allow him to fully recover, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. While the star big man struggled from the field, he hauled in a clutch offensive rebound off a LeBron James miss with 15 seconds and was able to convert on four free throws down the stretch to ice the game.
-
Brandon Ingram NO SF
Pelicans' Brandon Ingram: Limited in loss Tuesday
1h agoIngram chipped in 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 25 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game loss to the Lakers.
Ingram was noticeably absent during the fourth quarter, an indication that he is still bothered by a knee injury that cost him the final three weeks of the regular season. New Orleans will now have to win Friday's game against the winner of the Sacramento and Golden State matchup, should they hope to advance to the postseason. While it is likely Ingram will get the starting nod, there is a chance he remains limited based on what we saw Tuesday.
-
Jose Alvarado NO PG
Pelicans' Jose Alvarado: Plays significant role in loss
1h agoAlvarado logged 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds and seven assists over 25 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game loss to the Lakers.
Alvarado closed the game Tuesday, providing the Pelicans with plenty of energy off the bench. He served as the primary ball handler down the stretch, making several key plays, particularly on the offensive end. He did appear to suffer two separate ankle injuries during the second half, something that the medical staff will be monitoring ahead of Friday's must-win matchup against either the Warriors or the Kings.
-
Herbert Jones NO SG
Pelicans' Herbert Jones: Passive performance Tuesday
1h agoJones finished Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game loss to the Lakers with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and two steals across 35 minutes.
Jones failed to have a significant impact in the loss, delivering serviceable contributions on both ends of the floor. Tuesday's loss will now see the Pelicans having to suit up Friday, where they will face either the Kings or the Warriors. Although Jones is a key piece for New Orleans, his production is something that typically fluctuates in both fantasy and reality.
-
D'Angelo Russell LAL PG
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Lands five triples in win
2h agoRussell finished Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game victory over the Pelicans with 21 points (7-14 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes.
Russell was hot early, connecting on three of his five triples in the opening quarter. Although he did cool off, he was able to connect on a crucial three-pointer late in the piece, giving the Lakers a four-point lead with only seconds remaining. The Lakers will need Russell to stay hot should they hope to advance past the defending champion Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
-
LeBron James LAL SF
Lakers' LeBron James: Flirts with triple-double Tuesday
2h agoJames registered 23 points (6-20 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 10-10 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and three steals over 41 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game victory over the Pelicans.
James fell just one rebound and one assist short of his second straight triple-double. It continues what has been a fantastic season for James, a campaign that will now last at least another four games. The Nuggets await the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs, a matchup that should be a must-watch given the history between the two teams.
-
Anthony Stolarz FLA G
Panthers' Anthony Stolarz: Earns win in finale
3m agoStolarz stopped 24 of 26 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Maple Leafs.
After Toronto jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, Stolarz rebounded to blank the Leafs over the final two frames while the Panthers rallied with five unanswered goals. The 30-year-old Stolarz has won back-to-back starts, allowing three goals on 52 shots in that span. He put together a solid campaign overall while backing up Sergei Bobrovsky, going 16-7-2 with a .925 save percentage. and 2.03 GAA.
-
Ryker Evans SEA D
Kraken's Ryker Evans: Nabs assist in loss
22m agoEvans provided an assist, four hits and four PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Evans ended a 10-game point drought with the helper on Yanni Gourde's second-period tally. The 22-year-old defenseman has seen a larger role lately due to Vince Dunn (upper body) missing time late in the season. Evans is at nine points 43 shots on net, 60 hits, 36 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 35 outings. He will likely play Thursday versus the Wild and then return to AHL Coachella Valley for the Calder Cup playoffs.
-
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare SEA LW
Kraken's Pierre-Edouard Bellemare: Pockets helper in loss
25m agoBellemare notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Bellemare didn't see much playing time in recent weeks as the Kraken opted to turn to prospects until their home finale. He snapped a six-game point drought, a span that also included 10 healthy scratches, with his helper in Tuesday's loss. The 39-year-old center is at just seven points with 34 shots on net, 21 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 39 appearances this season.
-
Brandon Tanev SEA LW
Kraken's Brandon Tanev: Slides helper in loss
36m agoTanev notched an assist, two shots on goal, five hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Tanev helped out on Yanni Gourde's second-period tally. With three points over eight outings in April, Tanev has shown a little life on offense. He's at 14 points, 145 hits, 49 PIM, 72 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 65 appearances in a bottom-six role this season.
-
Tomas Tatar SEA LW
Kraken's Tomas Tatar: Tallies in Tuesday's loss
45m agoTatar scored a goal and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Tatar got back into the lineup since Eeli Tolvanen (undisclosed) was a surprise scratch before the game. This was Tatar's third appearance in the Kraken's last 11 contests. The veteran winger snapped a 10-game goal drought and now has nine tallies, 24 points, 70 shots on net, 41 hits and a plus-8 rating through 69 appearances between the Kraken and the Avalanche this season.
-
Tye Kartye SEA LW
Kraken's Tye Kartye: Reaches 10-goal mark
1h agoKartye scored a goal on three shots, added seven hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Kartye tied the game at 3-3 late in the second period on a feed from Yanni Gourde. While he hasn't been a prolific scorer, Kartye's energy in a bottom-six role has kept in the lineup most of the time. The 22-year-old rookie has 10 goals, 19 points, 108 shots on net, 226 hits, 37 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 76 appearances.
