One good thing about a struggling economy is that some private golf clubs now offer tee times to the public. Somebody has to pay the bills, right? It might as well be you, so here are four play options:
1. Bella Collina (Orlando). Before the recession in 2008, Bella Collina was called the next Isleworth, which is the former posh residence of Tiger Woods. After tough times and new ownership, Bella Collina is offering tee times to the public on its Nick Faldo-designed layout.
2. Golf Club at Southshore (Las Vegas). This uber-private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in the Lake Las Vegas area allows tee times to guests at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
3. Pronghorn Nicklaus Course (Bend, Oregon). Pronghorn, with its spectacular panoramas of the Cascade Mountains, offers public play on its Nicklaus Course, while the Fazio design is still private.
