"I called Coach Saban around 12:30 today, and told him I wanted to play," Wesley Neighbors said from Huntsville, (Ala.). "He was excited about it. He (Nick Saban) told me he expected me to work hard in the classroom as well as on-and-off the field. He said he wanted to help me graduate."
"I decided I would play for Alabama the latter part of last week. I talked to my Dad about it. It has always been my dream to play there. Since I was a young kid I have always dreamed of playing for Alabama. I've had four members of my family play at Alabama, so it means a lot to me. They have what I'm looking for in an education as well."
"I haven't had a chance to get down there lately, with baseball season, but I plan to go on an unofficial visit as soon as I get a chance. I also plan to go to camp this summer."
The strong family ties to the University of Alabama left little doubt where Wesley Neighbors would play his college football after receiving a scholarship offer from the Tide.
"I always wanted to go to Alabama," Neighbors admitted. "I looked at other places before I had an offer, but I didn't heavily consider another school once I got the offer from coach Saban. It took a couple of days to make my decision after I got the offer."
"I'm ecstatic about my decision, and so is my family."
