Huffman Brothers Hold Offers

Demerius Dareus and his brother, Marcel, have multiple scholarship offers. ScoutSouth.com talked with Demerius after he and his brother returned from their visit to Tuscaloosa for the Tennessee game. Demerius tells us the latest news with his recruitment.

"I have offers from Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Southern Mississippi and Arkansas," Demerius said from Huffman, (Ala.).

"Alabama is talking to me about playing linebacker, but I have never played linebacker. I'm willing to try it though."

"Me and Marcel went to Tuscaloosa last Saturday and it was fun. Everything was nice. We got to sit down and talk to the some of the coaches. Coach Steele and some of the others."

"Coach Steele said he was going to come to our game this week since Alabama had a bye week."

"Oregon has been on Marcel pretty hard, and Cal came by our school last week. They invited us out there for a game. We're going to try to go out there for a visit. Clemson also invited us out to a game, and we want to go over there too."

"Tennessee sent us some tickets to come up there for a game, but I don't know what we're going to do. We have a lot to try to plan. I don't know how we're going to do it all, but we're going to try."

The two brothers (Marcel and Demerius) play opposite defensive ends for Huffman, and both are having stellar seasons as several top schools around the country are showing the duo a lot of interest.

"We think we have the best defensive line in the state," Demerius said. "Me and Marcel are just part of it, but we believe we're that good across our front."

Demerius Dareus is 6-5, 245-pounds with brother Marcel Dareus standing 6-5, 265-pounds.

"I have eight sacks and 35 tackles this season," Demerius said. "Marcel is sick. He has 15 sacks, but I'm not sure how many tackles he has this season."
