American Christian vs. Sweet Water
Sweet Water coach, Stacy Luker, knows how good this offense can be.
"They have a good offensive line, and they can really spread the ball out with Brad Smelley," he said.
Smelley averages 232 yards per game in total offense and 195 through the air. Coach Stephen Hook's American Christian Patriots (8-1, 7-0), average over 31 points per game and in the eight wins this season, have outscored opponents 393-111. Their only loss came in the first game of the year due to a forfeit.
Sweet Water has some offensive weapons, too. Two-time State Championship MVP running back, Anthony Landrum, is the key to their offense to an offense that averages over 53 points per game.
The key to this game is tempo according to Luker, who said, "We have to keep our defense off the field and control the tempo."
This will be true for both teams. The defenses really need to show up and on offense both teams need to sustain drives to keep their defense off the field.
