Piedmont at Red Bay

Red Bay (12-0) has put together a stellar season thus far as they remain undefeated headed in the quarter-finals of the 2A state title chase. Red Bay's Coach Dale Jeffreys talks with about the game with Piedmont (10-2).

"We're two very similar teams," Coach Dale Jeffreys said from his home in Red Bay, (Ala). "We like to run the ball a lot, and they like to run it a lot. We're going to start a sophomore quarterback, and they're going to start a sophomore quarterback."

"We lost our starting quarterback (Anthony Horton) in the first round of the playoffs, and now we will be playing a sophomore. He has been on the B-team the past two years, so he will be fine. He can do what we're going to ask of him."

"They have a couple of good running backs that we need to contain. The Jackson kid is good out in space. The other one is big, kind of like our back. He's probably around 200 pounds and runs it hard."

"You know, we just want to try to limit the things they do best and hang in there in the other areas."

Red Bay was a quarter-final team in 2004 and have been in the playoffs each season since. source for Alabama high school football.
