Sulligent vs. Talladega County Central
Coach Chris Mahand's Talladega County Central squad had no misstep up to this point, but this Sulligent team has something special. It comes in the form of Caleb Massey. The running back and defensive back believes that the ball is his alone. The junior has rushed for 1,417 yards and 22 touchdowns and has an amazing 12 interceptions. Look for Coach Bowling's team to try and get the ball to him by air or by land.
Massey had four touchdowns last week. Quarterback Bradley Blaylock has thrown for just shy of 2,500 yards and 24 touchdowns.
The Tigers have shut out seven opponents while Sulligent averages over 38 points a game. One would imagine that something will have to give. Sulligent has played a much tougher schedule and last week dispensed of a high-powered offensive Shoals Christian team 52-22.
Talladega County Central staged a come from behind victory over undefeated Hazlewood 21-20 last week. Certainly an emotional victory.
Talladega County Central's senior running back Robert Reynolds has rushed for 1,785 yards and 16 touchdowns and quarterback Dion Duncan completed six of seven passing attempts last week for 76 yards.
Look for Sulligent to try to offset the high-powered speed of the Tigers' defense.
