Deshler vs. Central-Tuscaloosa

The Deshler Tigers have fought hard to end up in Birmingham at seasons end, and that's exactly what they've done. However, their opponent is the toughest of the season in the Central Tuscaloosa Falcons.

Deshler will have to bring their best to beat the Falcons as they are 14-0 on the season and have played some stiff competition. The two teams have one common opponent, and while you can never use that as a guage to what will happen Thursday night at 7:00 PM, it is at least interesting to note.

Central played Russellville in the Fall jamboree and blew out the Golden Tigers. Deshler played Russellville the following week to open regular season play and lost in overtime. No doubt Deshler has improved since the first game, and so have the Falcons.

Each had a tough semi-final match-up with Deshler defeating Brooks 21-14, while the Falcons won a thriller over Thomasville with a two-point conversion at the end of the game.

Each team is loaded with talented players who will play at the next level, and here are a few familiar names to keep a watchful eye:

Central Tuscaloosa: Jeremy Williams, Marcellos Wilder, Jonathan Edwards, Derrick Cade and DeMario Pippen.

Deshler: Chase Blackburne, Dominique King, Kenyatta Abernathy and Chris Holland.
