Coaches Taking Notice

Jimmy Vaughn, running back from Huntsville-J.O.Johnson, (Ala.), has been somewhat overlooked in this class, but a 5-10, 205 pound back with 4.41 speed can't go unnoticed for long. His recruitment is starting to pick up in the latter stages of the game.

"Recruiting is going good," Jimmy Vaughn said from his home in Huntsville, (Ala.). "Middle Tennessee, Memphis, and Arkansas State have been recruiting me pretty hard, and Minnesota has recently talked to Coach Wells about me."

Vaughn discusses each school:

MTSU: "They came by the school just before the dead period. They were telling me about their running backs and how I was the type runner they needed to add. They liked that I run hard. I like MTSU pretty well."

Memphis: "Memphis also likes the way I run the ball North and South. They said they had a back that danced, but they need a power back that can take it the distance. They like my size and speed too. Memphis also came by my school and talked to me."

Arkansas State: "They came by the school to talk to me. They were telling me they have a smaller back and one similar to me, but they are looking to add another running back to their class. They are supposed to get back with me soon."

Minnesota: "Minnesota has been talking to my coach about me. They were by our school last year, and they talked to several players. They wanted Coach Wells to send them my senior film so they could evaluate me. They were supposed to get a back out of JUCO, but he ended up committing to someone else."

When asked favorites Vaughn said, "I don't really have a favorite, but I guess you could say I'm leaning toward MTSU and Memphis. I think both have good programs, good schools and they are pretty close to home. But, you can't ever tell, if Minnesota came through with an offer I would have to seriously consider them since they are a big 10 school."
