Caleb Mitchell Returns from Visits

Caleb Mitchell has talked to many SEC schools and while some have been close to offering a scholarship none have at this point. Mitchell tells us the latest news

"I have taken a couple of visits to UT Martin and Tennessee Tech, and I enjoyed myself at both places," Caleb Mitchell told ScoutSouth.com from his home in Russellville, (Ala.).

"Martin has been recruiting me harder than anyone else. They have been recruiting me all year, and they told me they didn't care who committed as long as I came up there to play football for them."

"I also enjoyed my visit to Tennessee Tech. The school was bigger, and their facilities were nice. They are building a two million dollar weight room that will be finished next year. It is a nice place."

ScoutSouth.com has reported in the past of Mitchell having opportunities outside of football, and he is considering his options over the next few weeks.

"I have an offer from Wallace State to play baseball, and they send most of their guys on to D-1 schools after two years there. I am considering that since I do not have an offer from a D-1 school to play football," he said.

"I've also started hearing from Alabama and Florida State about baseball. If the right scholarship offer came to play football that's what I would do, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen for me. I have no problem playing baseball. I've always liked playing both."

"I've talked to some people that seem to think I could go in the Major League draft if I have another good season this year. I had a good showing at the pro show case in Florida, and they seem to think that helped me a lot."

"I don't know what I'm going to do."
