ScoutSouth.com: Randon Carnathan
"I have been to Ole Miss, Tennessee and Auburn, so far," Randon Carnathan tells ScoutSouth.com from his home in Leeds, (Ala).
"I was planning to go to Alabama's Junior Day, but I had the ACT Saturday morning. I didn't get to make the trip. That was one I really wanted to make it to."
"Alabama was the first school to start recruiting me, and they are still recruiting me harder than any other school at this point. I will be attending camp at Alabama May 3rd."
Randon discussed each visit:
Ole Miss: "I went to Ole Miss and was really surprised with everything over there. I really enjoyed it a lot. I liked all the coaches over there because they were straight-up forward with me. They told me I should send my highlight film to all the schools I was interested in so I could explore all my options."
"They talked to me about academics, and they showed me how they would help me keep my grades in order. I met some of the people that helps with academics and some of the tutors."
"Everything at Ole Miss was very nice. I really liked it over there."
Tennessee: "I liked Tennessee. They showed me some different things that will help my technique in the weight room and on the field. I talked to some of the coaches, and they have invited me back this Saturday."
Auburn: "It was pretty nice, but I went down there with some die-hard Auburn friends. They were on me all day about how much better Auburn was than the other schools."
"It was all good though, and I enjoyed my visit there. I talked to Coach [Greg] Knox, and he invited us back to Auburn's senior camp. They talked as if they were very interested in working with us and having us back for the camp."
"We toured the facilities while we were there, and they were all nice. I got to learn about their defensive line scheme, which is something I also got to do at Ole Miss. I hope to learn more about Tennessee's D-line scheme when I go back up there."
"Coach Knox wanted me to send my highlight film directly to him as soon as we got back home, and I did that."
"I'm receiving interest from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville, Illinois, Marshall, Nebraska, Stanford, LSU, Army and Air Force to name a few."
"My top five would probably be Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Marshall. Marshall has been doing a real good job recruiting me, and I have to list them in my top five at this time."
"I know I'm going to camp at Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss," he said. "I am going to try to get up to Marshall for their camp along with a few others that I haven't decided on at this time."
Carnathan reports a 3.2 GPA, and he took his ACT for the first time Saturday, April 12th.
