Aerik Davis is a 5-10, 170-pound athlete who has started at every position from running back, quarterback, receiver and defensive back for the two-time defending state champion Leroy squad. He visited Alabama's A-day game this past weekend.
"I thought it was a good day," Davis said. "I got to talk to a lot of prospects and meet the coaches at Alabama. Coach Kirby Smart was showing me a lot of attention. He said he wanted me to come back May 3rd for their clinic. I am going to head back up there then."
Davis doesn't have any offers, but several schools are showing interest.
"I think UAB is real close to offering me," he said. "UAB, Memphis, Central Florida and of course Alabama contact me the most."
"I really like Memphis and the way they run the spread offense, but I love the atmosphere at Alabama. It has always been a dream of mine to play there."
Davis has also been a star on the baseball diamond for the top-ranked Bears, batting .442.
"I think I have had a good year in baseball, but I have made the decision that I want to play football in college," he explained.
As a junior, Davis had 44 receptions for 755 yards with 217 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He was an ASWA honorable mention selection as an athlete.
