Alabama TE Collects First

Brooks Johnson is a talented tight end for the Decatur Red Raiders, and he has received his first scholarship offer.

"I received an official offer [Arkansas State] in the mail yesterday," Brooks Johnson told ScoutSouth.com from his home in Decatur, (Ala).

"Coach Peoples and I had already discussed the offer, and I knew it was on the way. It's nice to get the first one, it takes some of the pressure off."

Johnson has been to camps at Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State. He tells ScoutSouth.com about his experience at each camp.

MSU: "I had a good time at MSU, and I did well in the one-on-one, and the seven-on-seven drills. The coaches liked me, and Coach Campbell said he would call me next week to let me know what's going on."

MTSU: "I had a good camp at MTSU. The recruiting coordinator liked me, and he said they were looking at offering me soon."

While Johnson has been busy he plans to step it up a notch this week. He calls this week the "biggest week of his summer."

"I am going to a lot of one day camps this week, and it will be the biggest week of my summer," he explained. "I am going to Kentucky, Tennessee, Memphis and Florida this week. Kentucky and Memphis are pretty high on my list, and that makes it even bigger."
