Limebric Windham receives first SEC offer

"The fact they are in the SEC is huge for me. The SEC is THE best conference in the NCAA. You have teams like Georgia, LSU, Florida, and all the others. The SEC has great competition each week, no matter who you are playing."

Limebric Windham is a 6-1, 195-pound wide receiver at Alma Bryant High School in Irvington, (Ala.). and he just received word he has an offer to play in the SEC.

Windham now holds offers from South Alabama, Marshall, Arkansas State, and South Carolina. Steve Spurrier's South Carolina Gamecocks are the latest school to make the speedy wide receiver an offer, and it is his first offer from an SEC school.

"I just got off the phone with a guy from ESPN, and he told me the Gamecocks had offered me a scholarship," Windham tells from his home in Irvington, (Ala.).

"It is good to know I have an offer from a big school. As a kid I always dreamed of playing at a big college, and now I will have that opportunity," Windham exclaimed.

The Gamecocks are not the only team showing Windham interest.

"I am still hearing from South Alabama, Marshall, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, LSU, Virginia and Auburn," Windham stated.

"I get a lot of letters from Virginia and LSU. I try to stay in contact with them, but with the start of practice, it is hard to do. They are very busy this time of year."

Windham would like to end his recruitment early.

"I would like to commit by the 5th or 6th week of the season, or I might just wait it out and see what happens from here," he said.

Windham says he will visit South Carolina as soon as possible.
