Brooks Johnson finished with camps

Brooks Johnson has become a camp warrior over the summer months, and now the Decatur, (Ala.) tight end is settling in for the upcoming season.

"We play our cross town rival, Austin, in the season opener," Brooks Johnson explains.

"They have a lot of talent over there. D.T. Shackleford and I are friends. DT and I text each other from time-to-time. I also know Freddy Moore. He is a very good receiver for them."

"They probably have more talent than we do, but we have our own guys that can get it done on the field. Chris Coffee is returning at running back, and Ben Neil will be our starting quarterback again this year. He will be a junior," Johnson explained.

While Brooks Johnson is getting ready for the upcoming football season, he still has some unfinished business when it comes to his recruitment.

"Recruiting is going good," he said. "I talk to Coach Helton and Coach Bell a lot. Memphis is one of the schools that are recruiting me the hardest, right now. They are coming to watch me play early in the season."

"I also talk to Coach Campbell at Mississippi State about once a week. MSU has me on their board, but it is all going to depend on how their board shapes out," Johnson concluded.
