Alabama TE receives second offer

Brooks Johnson recently claimed a leader who has just jumped out in front by a mile.

"I just received an offer from Memphis," Brooks Johnson told ScoutSouth.com from his home in Decatur, (Ala.).

"I called Coach Clay Helton before I went out to practice, and he offered me a scholarship to play at Memphis. That puts Memphis in the lead."

What separates Memphis from the rest?

"I like the town, the coaches, and I like the opportunity for playing time," Johnson said. "That's what I'm looking for, and Memphis offers all that."

Johnson also discussed the possibility of a commitment.

"I will probably commit pretty soon," he exclaimed.

Johnson holds offers from Arkansas State, and Memphis, with UAB talking about an offer in the near future.

"UAB has been talking about offering me after the season starts, but I don't know if that would change my mind. I really like it at Memphis," Johnson concluded.
