Chris Coffee talks recruiting

Chris Coffee is a running back from Decatur, (Ala.), and he has been flying under the radar this summer. He discusses summer camps attended and the schools recruiting him.

Coffee rushed for more than 1300 yards on 250 carries last season. He also caught 26 balls for 430 yards. Coffee checked in at the Prattville combine at 5-7, 188-pounds, and he turned a solid 4.60 in the 40-yard dash.

"I have been receiving the most interest from Auburn, Vanderbilt, UAB, Murray State, and Jacksonville State," Chris Coffee said from his home in Decatur, (Ala.).

Coffee discusses summer camps.

Southern Miss: "I liked Southern Miss a lot. The coaching staff told me they were interested in me, and they will be coming to watch me this season."

Auburn: "It was real nice at Auburn. I got to talk to Coach [Don] Dunn, and Coach [Eddie] Gran. They told me they liked the way I ran the ball, and I am still getting a lot of letters from them. I also got to tour the campus while I was there."

UAB: "I haven't been to camp at UAB, but I talk to the coaches there a lot. I talk to Coach [Tim] Bowens, and he said they liked me. They are supposed to watch me this season."

Wofford: I went to Wofford the 22nd of June. They liked me a whole lot. I toured the campus, and talked to all the coaches while I was there. They told me they thought they had an offer for me."

Jacksonville State: "I camped there, and I really like it at JSU. I loved the stadium. They are adding on to the stadium, and they will have new sky boxes on the visitors' side."

"I talked to Coach Jimmy Ogle (running backs), and Coach [Greg] Stewart (Defensive coordinator), and they told me they were going to offer me a scholarship."

Chris Coffee claims no favorite at this time. He is looking to the 2008 season at Decatur High School.

"I just want to get into my senior season. I believe more schools will begin to recruit me once they see me play," Coffee concluded.
