James Sandlin holding two offers

James Sandlin is a 6-2, 280-pound defensive lineman for the American Christian Academy Patriots, and he has caught the eye of several college coaches over the summer months as well as the first two games of the 2008 season.

ScoutSouth.com caught up with the talented prospect today, and he was kind enough to discuss his future with us.

"Recruiting is going well," James Sandlin told us from the ACA campus. "I have offers from Navy and Air Force. A couple of others are talking like I might receive an offer during the season."

Sandlin discussed each school of interest.

"Air Force offered me back in June. Coach [Clay] Hendrix has stayed in touch with me throughout the summer, and into this season. I like him. He's a good guy," Sandlin stated.

"Navy offered me over the phone last week. Coach [Keith] Jones said they really liked me up there. He was telling me about the tradition of the Naval Academy, and what they did there."

"I talked to Coach Craig last night, and he told me they wanted to evaluate me after a few games to see where I was with South Alabama. Coach [Dameyune] Craig said Coach [Bill] Clark would have to evaluate my film since he was the defensive coordinator."

"I have also been hearing from Northwestern a good bit. They want to evaluate me after the fourth game of the season. Pretty much the same thing South Alabama told me."

While the above mentioned schools appear hot on the trail of James Sandlin, at least two more schools have shown interest in the big defensive lineman.

"I took unofficial visits to Tennessee and UAB," Sandlin said. "Both visits were great."

ACA will take on Shades Mountain Christian Academy Friday night.

"Shades Mountain is much improved from last year. We expect a good game from them," Sandlin concluded.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM Friday night.
