T.R. Miller 7-0 (5-0)

T.R. Miller kept their undefeated record in tact, and Lane was instrumental in that objective. The senior rushed for 108 yards on nine carries with a touchdown in the 14-13 win over Luverne in an important regional matchup.

The Tigers will host this week undefeated Straughn 7-0 (5-0).

Jamar Hopson
5-11, 205 pounds

1A Billingsley 5-2 (5-2)


Billingsley secured their playoff birth with a win over A.L. Johnson. Hopson ran for 179 yards on just five carries. He scored on touchdown runs of 68 and 70 yards. For the year, Hopson has 976 yards and 15 touchdowns.

There is another Tim Simon running the ball in Alabama, and this one rushed for 126 yards on nine carries, which brings his season total to 583 yards.

Billinglsey will host this week Holy Spirit 6-1 (5-1).

Dominique Edmonds
5-9, 185 pounds
Senior Running Back
3A Greene County 5-2 (4-2)


Edmonds piled up 293 yards and 46 yards receiving in an offensive battle with Cordova. The Tigers won the shootout 54-29.

Greene County remains at home this week to face Northside 0-7 (0-5).

Tre Cosby
5-10, 160 pounds
Sophomore Running Back
2A Tanner 7-0 (5-0)


The underclassman has just under 1,200 yards rushing on the season with 17 touchdowns. Cosby gained 181 yards on 21 carries and four touchdowns against Red Bay.

Undefeated Tanner hosts this week Cherokee 4-3 (3-2).

1A Alabama School for the Deaf 5-2


The Silent Warriors are 4-1 in their league and defeated Frisco City 30-20 last week. Snow rushed for 136 yards while Snider added another 79 yards. Snow and Boyd each had seven tackles and Boyd rushed for 52 yards on offense.

The Talladega team will hit the road this week as they meet Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington D.C. (4-2).

Eric Dellapenna
5-10, 160 pounds
Senior Running Back/Kicker
1A Holy Spirit 6-1 (5-1)


The senior rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a 77-yard touchdown pass in their 42-3 win over Hubbertville. Dellaepenna also kicked six extra points.

The Titans will travel this week to play a tough region opponent, Billingsley 5-2 (5-2).

Steven Ricks
5-8, 165 pounds
Freshman Quarterback/Defensive Back
1A Notasulga 2-5 (2-3)


Ricks contributed to the Blue Devils' hard fought overtime victory over Donoho by completing nine of his 13 passing attempts for 226 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 76 yards on 10 carries. Defensively, the ninth-grader had nine tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries.

Notasulga will host Friday night 1A Winterboro 2-5 (2-3).

Tony Ellis
5-9, 180 pounds
Senior Running Back
2A Flomaton 6-1 (4-1)


Ellis carried the ball 29 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns in the Hurricanes' win over Excel.

Ellis and his teammates will face Millry 5-2, (4-1) on the road in a big region matchup who has won five in a row.

2A Fultondale 5-2 (4-1)


Barber rushed for 213 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown in a win over one-loss Vincent.

Craig had 223 yards on 25 carries and scored five touchdowns. He also converted two two-point conversions.

Fultondale faces a one-two punch in the next two weeks. They face 2A American Christian 5-2 (4-1) at home Friday, and then travel to Pickens County 6-1 (5-0) to finish their region play.

Josh Ingram
6-3, 265 pounds
Senior Defensive Tackle
3A Marbury 3-3 (3-2)


Marbury won their third consecutive game by defeating Montevallo 18-17. Ingram recorded 13 tackles, 11 solo. He also caused a fumble.

Marbury will continue their march towards the playoffs on the road this week when they face Trinity Presbyterian 5-2 (4-1).

Honorable Mention:

Devyn Murphree, 3A J.B. Pennington, running back. The junior had 207 yards rushing on 23 carries with two touchdowns. He also had four tackles, two pass breakups and an interception in the loss to Vinemont 44-40.

Justin Brock, 1A South Lamar, running back/linebacker, had 20 carries for 193 yards and two touchdown runs of 28 and 19 yards. He caught two passes for 30 yards in their win over Meek.

 Nathan Funk, 1A South Lamar, fullback/linebacker, had 20 carries for 155 yards and two scores on seven and two yard runs.

Adam McCarley, 1A Phillips, Bear Creek, quarterback/free safety, completed 13-of-24 pass attempts for 377 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries. Defensively, he had six tackles and one pass breakup in the loss to Hubbard.

Wyatt Hyde, 1A Phillips, Bear Creek, guard/linebacker, made 18 tackles and graded out at 90-percent on his blocks.

Adrian Winn, 3A Sumter County, running back/cornerback, had 136 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a win over West Blocton.

Rush Perkins, 3A Leeds, quarterback, completed three of six passes for 100 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 153 yards on 15 carries for three touchdowns in a win over Glencoe.

Scott Poe, 3A Leeds, linebacker, had 16 tackles with one for a loss.

Ivey Moscatiello, 2A St. Jude, quarterback, 14 for 19 with 220 yards and three touchdowns in a 40-16 win over Highland Home.

Judson Davis, 1A Brilliant, senior running back/defensive back had 202 yards on 23 carries with three touchdown runs of 33, 80 and four yards. He also had 14 tackles in a close loss to Hackleburg 26-20.

Ethan Corkren, 1A Brilliant, senior offensive and defensive lineman had 15 tackles with eight solos.

Malcolm Cyrus, 1A Autaugaville, running back, rushed for 209 yards on 23 carries for two touchdowns.

Chris Tice, 2A Lanett, quarterback, 12 for 18 passing 209 yards and touchdown passes of 10, 29, and 38 yards against Ohatchee

Dillon Nessmith, 2A Lanett, wide receiver, caught six passes for 114 yards and all three of Tice's touchdown passes. He also ran for a score from one yard out.

Justin Heard, 2A Woodland, running back had 23 carries for 188 yards and a touchdown in a win over Randolph County.

Perdencio Williams, 1A Frisco City, linebacker had 13 tackles with eight solo in their loss to ASD.

Jeterius Ellis, 1A Frisco City, running back, 218 all-puporse yards, 131 yards rushing with a touchdown, 23 yards receiving with a touchdown and 64 yards on special teams.

Shantrell Braxton, 1A Linden, running back, ran for 169 yards on 16 carries with four touchdowns in a win over Sunshine.

Maurice Tate, 1A Linden, running back/linebacker, had 105 yards on 22 carries and recorded 13 tackles from his middle linebacker position.

Dylan Brazeal, 3A Elkmont, quarterback/kicker, completed 11 of 19 passing attempts for 308 yards, scoring on 44, 45, 82 and two-yard passes. He also kicked a 27-yard field goal and made five extra points in a win over Sheffield.

David Solomon, 3A Elkmont, running back, ran for 239 yards on eight carries for three touchdowns.

Brian Park, 2A Westminster Christian, quarterback, completed 30 of 44 pass attempts for 322 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Lexington.

Johnny Lockett, 1A Sweet Water, running back, ran for 233 yards on 11 carries scoring four times in a win over Georgiana.

Sean Mardis, 2A Shades Mountain Christian, freshman running back, had 232 yards on 22 carries. Three touchdown runs of 62, 44 and 27 yards. He also returned an interception for a 54-yard touchdown.
