Randon Carnathan talks about Colbert County

Randon Carnathan is a talented defensive lineman for Coach Keith Etheredge and the Leeds High School. The Green Wave has advanced to the semifinals behind one of the best defenses in the state. They have given up a mere 33 points in 13 games thus far on the season. This week is their biggest challenge so far.

The Green Wave will face 3A power, Colbert County this week in a game that should be decided in the trenches. The winner will advance to the Super Six play at Birmingham's Legion Field.

"We are getting ready to play Friday night," Randon Carnathan said from his home in Leeds, (Ala.).

"They have a running back (Jamorris Ricks) that is very good, and we need to come ready to play. He is pretty fast, and he runs very hard."

"The further you go in the playoffs the tougher it gets, and this will be the biggest challenge for us of our season. We have played well on defense all year, and we will need to have another good defensive game this week."

Randon Carnathan gave a verbal commitment to Coach Joey Jones and the South Alabama Jaguars earlier in the season. We asked the big defensive lineman if anything had changed in his recruitment.

"No, everything is still the same. Nothing new to report. I'm still committed to South Alabama," Carnathan concluded.
