ScoutSouth.com: Josh Rowe has multiple offers

Josh Rowe is a 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker from Opelika (Ala.), and he is beginning to see his recruitment take flight. ScoutSouth.com caught up with Rowe Sunday night, and he shared the latest development in his recruitment.

"Recruiting is going well right now," Josh Rowe said. "I have five offers, and I am still hearing from Auburn, Kentucky and UAB. I had been hearing from Ole Miss and Mississippi State, but I haven't heard from them since back in November."

Rowe holds offers from South Alabama, Georgia Southern, Samford, The Citadel and Tuskegee.

"I learned a while ago you have to be patient when it comes to recruiting. When we were younger people would ask you what college you were going to play for and you would say Alabama, or Auburn, but as you get older you realize it isn't that easy. It is a process you have to go through. So, I'm just going to wait and see what happens," Rowe explained.

Rowe discussed each of the schools recruiting him.

"I have talked to Coach (Tyson) Summers at UAB, and I think I have a real good chance of getting an offer from them. I have also talked to their recruiting coordinator (Tyson Helton), and he also talked favorable."

"I talk to Coach (Joker) Phillips at Kentucky, and he basically told me if I'm over 5-11 I will probably get an offer. Coach Phillips is a nice guy."

"I was talking to Coach (James) Willis at Auburn before the coaching change took place. I thought I had a good shot at an offer with them before the coaching change, but I don't have a clue what is going on with Auburn right now. I haven't heard from them in a while."

"I was hearing from Ole Miss and Mississippi State up until my cell phone was stolen, but I haven't heard from them since late October, or early November."

Rowe had an outstanding career at Opelika as he had 65 tackles, three sacks, and two pass break-ups as a sophomore. He added another 107 tackles as a junior to go along with his six sacks and four pass-break-ups.

In 2008 Rowe had another solid season as he continued to play throughout the season with an ankle injury that hampered his performance over the last half of the season. Yet Rowe was able to account for 108 tackles, two sacks and one pass break-up.
