Davin Hawkins back from FSU

Davin Hawkins suffered a torn ACL halfway through the 2008 season, but he is on the mend and colleges are lining up to try and get a closer look at the 6-2, 195-pound safety from Etowah High School. Find out which schools around the country are recruiting Hawkins in his latest interview with ScoutSouth.com.

Davin Hawkins projected as a big time recruit coming off his sophomore season, and now that he is headed into his senior season. His recruitment is taking flight.

"I just got home from FSU," Davin Hawkins said from his home in Attalla, Ala.

"I met Coach Bobby Bowden, and we talked for a few minutes. I also talked to Coach (Jimbo) Fisher and some of the other coaches while I was there."

"I met some of the players there, and it was interesting to get to talk to them and see their feelings about the university," Hawkins noted.

"If I had to rank the visit it would be a nine. It was way up there. I really like Florida State, and I enjoyed the time down there."

While this was Hawkins first trip of the new season, he plans to continue to visit schools, combines and camps over the spring and summer months.

"I am going to Vanderbilt this weekend. They have invited me up there to Junior Day, and I plan on going up there. Vandy and FSU have been hitting me hard here lately. I believe I could get my first offer from Vanderbilt in the near future," Hawkins said.

"I was invited to the Army All-America combine this year, but I wasn't able to attend due to my knee. I tore my ACL halfway through the season, and I am just now running full speed again. Doctor Andrews performed the surgery, and I am rehabbing with him. I am in the best hands in the world," Hawkins stated.

"I plan to attend camps and combines this spring and summer. I have been invited to a lot of camps this year. I might also go to Alabama's Junior Day on the 21st of this month. I'm not sure right now," Hawkins explained.

When asked of the schools recruiting him, Hawkins replied, "Duke, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt, FSU, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Arkansas, Colorado, Ole Miss, North Carolina State, UCF and UAB are the ones I can remember."
