ScoutSouth.com: Julius Jones

Julius Jones is a 6-4, 175-pound (4.6) wide receiver from Athens, Ala., and he is drawing attention from colleges across the south. Jones discussed his recruitment in his latest interview with ScoutSouth.com.

Julius Jones is the younger brother of Karlos Jones. Karlos and Alfred McCullough helped lead the Athens Golden Eagles to a 5A state title in 2006. Karlos had a greyshirt offer to Alabama, but chose to take a full scholarship to UT Martin.

Julius Jones is looking to leave his own mark on the Athens football program, and at the next level. Jones tells ScoutSouth.com who is showing interest at this stage of his recruitment.

"I have been receiving a lot of mail. I have been hearing from Tennessee, Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss and UAB," Julius Jones stated.

"I plan to attend several combines and camps over the summer. I am going to the Nike camp in Mobile a little later on," Jones said.

Jones talked about his strengths on the field, and the things he believes he needs to work on before entering the next level of play.

"I catch the ball well, and I block well too. I believe I need to work on my speed and quickness as well as my strength. I would like to improve my whole game over my senior season," Jones explained.
