Jeremiah Tullidge is a two-sport athlete at Tuscaloosa Academy, and he has already given his verbal pledge to the University of Alabama. Tullidge will likely take in several camps this summer before making a final decision. He talks about his commitment and recruitment in his latest interview with

Jeremiah Tullidge has committed to Coach Jim Wells and the Alabama baseball program. His brother, James Tullidge, is a current member of the Alabama baseball squad.

While Jeremiah Tullidge is committed to Coach Wells he is also a standout football player who could have the option of choosing his sport at the next level. He put up big numbers from his quarterback position at Tuscaloosa Academy in 2008.

Tullidge passed for 3,391 yards while completing 204-of-348 passing attempts, with 37 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He not only got the job done through the air, but he flourished rushing the ball as well.

Tullidge rushed 84 times for 819 yards and 11 touchdowns. He led Tuscaloosa Academy to an 11-2 record before losing in the third round of the AISA playoffs. Tullidge led his team with 4,210 all-purpose yards and 48 touchdowns. He also added 65 PATs on the season.

For his efforts on the gridiron, Tullidge was selected to the Alabama AISA All-State team, the Tuscaloosa Elite 11, Tuscaloosa News AISA Player of the year and the Tuscaloosa All-West All-Star team.

Tullidge freely admits his first love is baseball, but he would also like to explore his options as a football player at the elite level. Tullidge is starting to see his recruitment pick up steam as he heads into the final season of his high school career.

"I have gotten some interest from some smaller schools, and LSU recently invited me to their camp. I camped at Alabama last summer, and they invited me back again this year. They liked my arm strength and my mobility as a quarterback," Tullidge noted.

Tullideg is exploring the option of playing football, but his future on the baseball diamond appears cemented.

"My brother (Zane Tullidge) plays baseball at Alabama. He's a sophomore pitcher, but he is recovering from surgery on his throwing arm at the present time. He will be able to throw hard again in July, so he will miss this season," Tullidge explained.

"I think it would be a great experience to play baseball with my brother. I am an outfielder, but I was recruited for my ability to hit the ball. I really like the coaches and the support you receive at Alabama," Tullidge said.

Jeremiah Tullidge committed to Alabama over Mississippi State and Virginia.
