The Battle of the Trenches camp will take place June 8-9 at Hinds Community College in Raymond, Miss. The camp is a non-contact linemen camp and open to players on the defensive and offensive line.

The camp is open to both offensive and defensive linemen who are entering grades 9-12 for the 2009-10 school year.

Camp Director Taurus Felton coaches at Midfield High School in Birmingham, Ala., and a Mississippi native. He played at Mississippi Delta Community College and with the UAB Blazers.

"I am a former offensive lineman," said Taurus Felton. "There is a big need for this. Most state associations let skill guys compete in 7-on-7. There just isn't the opportunity for offensive and defensive linemen."

The camp is open to individual players or complete lines from the same school. Campers will receive quality instruction from some of the top high school coaches throughout the south.

"We have got a lot of response about it," said Felton. "Anybody who wants to attend. The sky is the limit on how many players we can have at the camp."

"One thing if a kid can improve their technique it will be great on our part. I know in five practices you can't make them an All-American. If that kid can walk away being a better player or person from what a coach shows or tells him it will be well worth our time."

The Camp is a two day event and registration fees include a dorm room at Hinds Community College. Registration fees also include all meals, and each camper will receive a Battle of the Trenches T-Shirt.

Registration deadline for the camp is May 25th.
