Nick Perry holding three

Nick Perry, 6-1, 190-pound safety from Prattville, Ala., has received three written offers and expecting more to follow. He tells the latest news in this interview.

"I have received written offers from Auburn, Southern Miss and South Alabama. I talked to Coach [Ron] Cooper at LSU today, and he told me they have an offer for me. I will be attending their (LSU) spring game April 18th. I also plan to go to Auburn's spring game, and Georgia's spring game," Nick Perry explained from his home in Prattville, Ala.

"South Alabama was the first team to offer me. I haven't visited South Alabama. They just sent me an offer in the mail."

"Auburn was the next to offer. I talked to Coach [Gene] Chizik and Coach [Trooper] Taylor while I was at Junior Day. They told me they were offering me, and I received the offer in the mail a few days later. I talk to coach Trooper pretty often, probably once a week."

"Southern Miss offered me about a week after I got back from Auburn's Junior Day. They sent an offer in the mail."

Perry talked about his visits, and the one yet to come.

Auburn: "I liked it at Auburn. I have been to Auburn before, but this was the first time I have talked to the new coaching staff. I like them, and I think I could see myself playing for them."

"I toured the facilities, and they are right up there with Alabama and Georgia in facilities. They are very nice. We toured the stadium and the campus. I enjoyed everything about it."

"When I talked to the coaches they were telling me how they needed me at Auburn, and a whole bunch of good stuff. It was all very nice."

Georgia: "I went to Georgia, and basically it was the same. We toured the facilities and the campus. They have a lot of new construction going on over there, so everything would be new if I went there. I didn't talk to the coaches one-on-one while I was at Georgia."

Alabama: "I went to Alabama, and we toured the facilities, campus, dorms and the stadium. It was all nice as well. Alabama hasn't offered me, but they have told my coach they plan to offer me in the future. Coach [James] Willis and Coach [Kirby] Smart talk with me pretty often."

Perry plans one more Junior Day visit this spring.

"I am going to Vanderbilt this weekend with Sam Gibson and Cedrick Smith. Someone else might go, but I'm not sure about that right now. I have been talking to Coach [Charlie] Fisher at Vanderbilt, and they invited me to Junior Day," Perry stated.

"I don't think I will be going to anymore junior days after Vanderbilt. I will go to the spring games I mentioned, and I will decide which camps I will attend a little later."

Coach Stewart of Prattville also had this to say of Prattville's talented defensive back.

"What sets Nick apart from other players is he has the total package. He is a ball hawk, and he finds ways to get to the ball. That's why he has so many interceptions. He is also a very smart young man with a lot of charisma. Other players tend to look up to him, which shows his leadership ability. I believe he will make someone a great collegiate athlete – he's just a football player," Coach Stewart stated.

"He works equally as hard in all aspects. He works hard on the field, in the classroom and in the weight room. He is a humble young man, a 'yes-sir, no-sir' kind of kid, which you don't find everyday. I'm happy good things are happening for him."

Coach Stewart also reported Perry to have a 3.8 GPA and a 22 on the ACT.
