ScoutSouth.com: Sam Gibson has first offer

Prattville's Sam Gibson is a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback/wide receiver, and he attended Vanderbilt's Junior Day festivities this past weekend. Learn more about Gibson's trip to Nashville.

Samuel Gibson talked about his visit to see the Commodores.

"I enjoyed my visit to Vanderbilt," Gibson told ScoutSouth.com from his home in Prattville, Ala.

"Vanderbilt was better than I expected it to be. I didn't think Vanderbilt would be anything like it was. It is the largest campus I have visited so far. I liked the city of Nashville, and I thought everything was actually very nice up there."

"We toured the campus, the weight room and the other facilities while we were there, but the best part of the trip was meeting the coaches and seeing how down-to-earth they really are. They were very laid back and easy to talk to."

Gibson received an offer from the Commodores following his visit.

"I really enjoyed my trip to Vanderbilt. I liked everything there," he stated.

Gibson is hearing from several schools, and his second offer could come in the near future.

"I am receiving interest from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, UAB, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, UCLA and LSU. I think LSU might be close to offering me. They (LSU) are recruiting me harder than anyone else at this time," Gibson noted.

When asked of favorites, Gibson said, "I really don't have a favorite school. I grew up pulling for Miami and USC, but I would like to receive offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU and UCLA to go along with the offer from Vanderbilt."
