Drew Forrest taking visits

Drew Forrest helped the Cullman Bearcats to the semi-final round of Alabama's class 5A state playoffs during his junior season. The talented playmaker piqued recruiting interest with his 92 receptions, and he is currently receiving interest from several area schools. He discussed his recruitment in this latest interview.

Drew Forrest caught 92 passes for 1,161 yards and 16 touchdowns before the Bearcats fell to Russellville in the semi-final round of the playoffs. His 2008 performance was good enough to garner the attention of several schools in the surrounding area.

"Recruiting is going good. It has picked up a lot, recently," Drew Forrest told from his home in Cullman, Ala.

"I would say Vanderbilt is recruiting me more than anyone else. Coach Caldwell sends me a couple of personal letters each week. I met him when I went to Vanderbilt's Junior Day a few weeks back."

"I really liked everything about Vanderbilt, especially the coaching staff. They seem like a very nice coaching staff, and I like the way they do things up there."

"I also went to Junior Day at Middle Tennessee, and I liked their campus and the coaches there, as well. I know Coach Tony Franklin, and he knows me. He likes the way I play, and they are going to run the spread."

"I have been talking to Coach Franklin and Coach Justin Watts. I will probably go to camp at MTSU sometime this summer."

"I also went to Auburn's Junior Day. I really like Auburn a lot, but I am just waiting to see what happens with them. They still send me a lot of stuff in the mail."

"I get a lot of mail from Mississippi State too, and they have invited me to their camp a little later this summer. I am going to try to get over there for their camp."

"Illinois has just begun to send me mail, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with them."

"The other team that has been recruiting me pretty hard is Troy. I like Troy, and Coach Brown. I have a former teammate that plays there, Gavin Ellis, and it would be good to be able to play with Gavin. I will probably go to their camp this summer."

"I don't have any offers at this time, but I really like Vandy, MTSU, Troy, Mississippi State and Auburn," Forrest concluded.

Forrest and teammate Bryan Steele will attend the Elite 11 camp in Athens Georgia later this month.
