Dallas Tidwell likes the Tigers

Dallas Tidwell, quarterback from Gardendale, Ala., was one of the best overall players in attendance at the Mountain Brook 7-on-7 camp. Tidwell showed a very strong arm and accuracy throughout the day. Look for him to make some noise in the class of 2011.

"I have been receiving some mail from Troy, UAB, Auburn, Kentucky and Vanderbilt," said Dallas Tidwell. "I went to Vanderbilt's camp. That's the only camp I have been to this summer. I plan on going to a bunch of camps next summer."

The 6-foot-6, 190-pound prospect talked briefly about the camp at Vanderbilt.

"The Vanderbilt camp was pretty fun," Tidwell said. "It was a nice atmosphere up there, and I like it. The coaches were nice. I spoke to coach Bobby Johnson. He was just asking me who I was and where I was from. I thought Vanderbilt was a pretty cool place. It was a good camp."

Tidwell is eager to hear more from his long-time favorite.

"My favorite school is Auburn," he said. "Auburn has always been my favorite school. I just love Auburn football. It would be great to start getting some more stuff from them."

Tidwell's biggest strength was evident in the passing tournament and an area of improvement he reported.

"I can throw the deep ball," he said. "I am still trying to improve on my footwork."

Tidwell played behind a senior quarterback during his sophomore season. He is primed to have a big season in 2009. He is also a star on the basketball court.
