ScoutSouth.com: Underwood grabs second offer

Zach Underwood saw his recruitment take flight with several Division one schools taking a close look at the 6-4, 275-pound center, and Louisville was the first to offer. Since that time Underwood has been to several camps and picked up his second offer.

"Recruiting is going pretty good," Zach Underwood told ScoutSouth.com.

"I have picked up my second offer from Samford, and I really enjoyed my visit there. I talked to Coach Henning while I was there, and I really like him. I like the entire coaching staff, and everything I've ever heard about Coach Sullivan is positive. Everyone says he is not only a good football coach, but a fine man."

"I liked the campus better than any I have been to. I liked their facilities, the field, I liked it all. I would have to say that they are my overall favorite right now."

"I am still hearing from a lot of schools, but some of the bigger schools seemed to have backed off. I haven't heard from Vanderbilt in a while, and I haven't heard from Troy or North Carolina in w long time."

"I camped at Troy, but they told me they had limited spots this season, and they would have to wait and see what happened before they could offer me. I liked Troy, and their coaching staff."

"I also camped at Vanderbilt, and they stayed in touch with me for a while, but I haven't heard from them in a while now. I really liked the education at Vanderbilt, and the coaches."

"I went to Jacksonville State last week, and I got to spend a lot of one-on-one time with the offensive line coach. They liked me and told me they would be in touch with me pretty soon."

"I was supposed to go to Auburn this weekend, but I decided not to attend their camp. I might try to get down there a little later for a visit."

"I haven't made it up to Louisville yet, but I plan to get up there before the season begins. I am still interested in taking a look at the campus and visiting there. They have continued to stay in contact with me throughout the process."

Which Schools are recruiting Underwood the hardest?

"I would say Samford, UT-Chattanooga, Murray State and Louisville."

Zach Underwood has no plans to attend any additional individual camps this summer.
