Commitment Tracker: Jarrick Williams

Jarrick Williams, four-star safety from Prichard-Blount, Ala., starts his senior campaign Friday night. Tide fans in the Mobile area make plans to see Williams in action with his head coach Kelvin Sigler leading the way for the 2009 season. Williams committed to the University of Alabama June 26.

2008: Williams played in nine games as a junior recording 94 tackles, one tackle for a loss, two forced fumbles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions and blocked a field goal attempt. He added nine passes on offense for 206 yards and four touchdowns. Williams had approximately 200 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He was named 6A honorable mention ASWA All-State defensive back.

Blount ended the 2008 season with a 5-6 record with losses to Davidson (7-0), Theodore (24-17), John Curtis (La.) (26-7), Murphy (14-7), and Vigor (5A state champion) (29-6).

Blount lost in the first round of the play-offs against McGill-Toolen (17-13).
