Stars of Alabama 4A-6A's Player of the Week is Springville's senior wide receiver Jeremy Richardson. The 6-4, 220-pound Auburn University commitment helped rally his team from a three touchdown deficit to win 40-39 over region foe Pleasant Grove. Jeremy Richardson caught seven passes for 195 yards and scored four touchdowns (51, 50, 49 and 9 yards). Richardson garnered the kind of defensive attention a division one athlete gets in the high school ranks, but found a way to make plays. He also intercepted the two-point conversion attempt that would have given Pleasant Grove the victory in the waning seconds of the game. Stars of Alabama 4A-6A

The senior South Alabama commitment completed eight-of-11 pass attempts for 149 yards scoring twice. He rushed for 30 yards on six carries with half of those touchdowns. Jenkins stats all came in a 37-0 first half against Dothan. Auburn won the game 37-14 to go to 2-0 and 1-0 in the region.

The Warriors are 2-0 against Mobile area 6A schools with their 34-15 win over Blount Friday night. Craig rushed for 209 yards on 20 carries scoring a touchdown while Bowen was a perfect four-for-four on point-after-attempts. He also hit two field goals of 32 and 37 yards.

Thomas and his teammates upset Smiths Station with a 19-15 region win Friday night. The senior rushed for 130 yards on 24 carries and scored once on the ground and had an 84-yard reception for a touchdown.

Smith passed for 215 yards completing seven-of-12 pass attempts scoring twice and adding a rushing touchdown against Carver Montgomery in a 28-24 victory last Thursday night.

Wells had another impressive outing with a 40-14 victory over Holt. He completed nine-of-13 pass attempts for 185 yards and scored two touchdowns. He rushed for more than 100 yards on eight carries scoring three more touchdowns.

Mays had 238 yards rushing on 38 carries scoring twice, while Creel carried for 138 yards on 18 carries scoring three touchdowns. Defensively, Creel had five tackles and an interception returned 48 yards in their overtime loss to Elmore County 37-34.

Spanish Fort needed all their stars to win 21-20 in overtime over Gulf Shores. Boswell had seven tackles and two sacks and blocked the extra point in overtime that won the game. Brackham had 10 tackles and a sack. McGavin had 17 carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns. He completed four-of-seven pass attempts for 53 yards. Peters rushed for 110 yards on 18 carries and caught three passes for 34 yards.

Paul and Gottfried didn't come out winners in the Spanish Fort Gulf Shores match up, but they certainly left it all on the field. Paul completed 25-of-36 pass attempts for 305 yards and three touchdowns. Gottfried caught all three touchdowns in his six catches for 89 yards.

Spain Park improved to 2-0 overall and in region play with their 29-21 win over Pelham. Watkins caught five passes for 140 yards in the victory.

Oxford made a statement with their 42-7 win over Pinson Valley, and Ritten was a big part of the defensive game. He had 17 total tackles with 12 solo and three for a loss of yards.

Damian Minor, 5-10. 190-pounds, Senior Running Back, Tuscaloosa County - 21 carries for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Five catches for 51 yards in the win over Northridge 35-16.

Stephen Rivers, 6-6, 180-pounds, Junior Quarterback, Athens - 260 yards passing completing 15-of-21 attempts and scoring two touchdowns in a 27-0 win over Muscle Shoals.

Noah Wilson, 5-9, 175-pounds, Senior Running Back, Hewitt-Trussville - rushed for 213 yards on 25 carries scoring a touchdown and tossing a touchdown pass in the 28-24 loss to rival Clay-Chalkville.

Jordan Huff, 5-9, 175-pounds, Freshman Running Back, St. Paul's Episcopal - rushed for 162 yards on 20 carries scoring the winning touchdown in a 28-21 victory over region opponent Faith Academy.

Mario Wren, 5-10. 175-pounds, Senior Running Back, Jess Lanier - rushed for 203 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown against Hueytown in a 48-36 win.

Jackson Reeves, 5-8, 150-pounds, Junior Defensive Back, Hartselle - two interceptions with one returned for a 20-yard score in the 44-14 defeat of J.O. Johnson.
