Stars of Alabama 1A-3A

Familiar faces and young faces make up this week's 'Stars of Alabama' 1A-3A.

Stars of Alabama:

Josh Snow
5-10, 175 pounds
Senior running back
Alabama School for the Deaf (ASD)

Snow rushed for 167 yards on seven carries scoring three times in the Silent Warriors' 54-6 win over Rocky Bayou Christian (Fla.). Snow's touchdowns included a 95-yard run.

ASD (5-1) will host Model School for the Deaf (1-5) from Washington, D.C. this week.

Craig Sanders
6-4, 235 pounds
Senior Athlete
Ariton High School

The Auburn University commitment recorded 15 tackles and rushed for 187 yards on 27 carries. The senior scored touchdowns on runs of 21, 69, and 6 yards in their 27-19 loss to Providence Christian.

Sanders got more good news last week when he was named to the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic roster.

Ariton (2-5) travels this week to take on Florala (1-6).

Tevin McNair
5-9, 200 pounds
Senior running back
New Brockton High School

McNair rushed for 180 yards and scored a touchdown. He had 12 tackles on defense and one of New Brockton's nine sacks on Barbour County in the 35-12 win. He also recovered a fumble.

New Brockton (5-2) will play host this week to Houston County (6-1) and UAB quarterback commitment Desmond Warren.

Patrick Moore
5-11, 170 pounds
Senior quarterback
Loachapoka High School

Moore completed 10-of-12 pass attempts for 154 yards and two scores in Loachapoka's 34-0 win over Fayetteville.

Loachapoka (6-1) is undefeated in region 4 play, and face Wadley (3-4) at home before traveling to face Talladega County Central (5-2) who has one region loss.

Terrance "Tank" Hollingsworth
5-8, 175 pounds
Eighth grade running back
Berry High School

Hollingsworth continues to post incredible numbers. Hollingsworth rushed for 270 yards on 20 carries scoring two touchdowns in the team's 36-7 region win over Lynn.

Berry (7-0) takes their impressive record to South Lamar (1-6) this week. Berry has outscored opponents 321-53 in their seven games.

Mitch Stults
5-9, 165 pounds
Freshman quarterback
Hamilton High School

Stults has stepped up to lead this team to a 5-0 region record. He rushed for 135 yards on eight carries scoring twice including a 62-yard run in his team's 44-14 win over Danville. He completed 12-of-21 passing attempts for 250 yards and another two scores.

Hamilton (6-1) hosts J.B. Pennington (2-5) and Vinemont (5-2) to finish their district play.

Josh Sensor
6-0, 170 pounds
Junior running back
Pisgah High School

Sensor rushed for 238 yards on 28 carries scoring four times in last week's 35-26 win over Sylvania.

Pisgah (6-1) leads region 6 with a 5-0 record and will travel this week to face New Hope (2-5).

Kalup Nunn
5-8, 165 pounds
Junior running back
Thorsby High School

Nunn rushed for 198 yards including 61 and 68-yard touchdowns in the team's 28-6 win over Shades Mountain Christian. This game stopped a 17-game losing skid for Thorsby.

Thorsby (1-6) will take the short trip this week to Isabella (1-6).

Desmond Warren
6-1, 200 pounds
Senior quarterback
Houston County High School

Warren impresses in every outing, and last week was no exception with their 39-14 win over G.W. Long. The UAB commitment completed 15-of-26 pass attempts for 289 yards scoring two touchdowns. He rushed for another 102 yards and a touchdown.

David Sanford
5-5, 160 pounds
Eighth grade running back
Gaylesville High School

Sanford rushed for 214 yards on 42 carries scoring once in the team's 24-6 win over Collinsville.

Gaylesville (4-3) will host Valley Head (4-3) this week. Both teams have two region losses.
