Intro: Erik Halley

Erik Halley, a 5-foot-9, 155-pound cornerback from Sparkman High School in Harvest, Ala., is entering his senior season with good intentions for himself and his team.

Erik Halley knows his strengths and areas of improvement.

"I am good at reading the quarterback and giving hard hits," Halley said. "I need to work on my one-on-one with the receiver and breaking the ball up."

Halley commented on the South Showcase Combine held at Gadsden City May 2nd.

"I really liked being there," Halley expressed. "And I got the opportunity to see where I was up against the wide receivers."

Halley has plans for several summer camps.

"I plan to attend a camp at Tennessee-Chattanooga, Middle Tennessee, and UNA," he said.

Halley has goals for the 2010 season.

"I plan on containing the runners, not letting the wide receivers get passed," he said. "And shutting down the offense. I will be showing leadership, make interceptions and a lot of tackles."

Halley enjoys the simple things away from football.

"I like going to movies, reading books," he said. "And hanging out with friends."

Halley has the grades of a senior on the right track as he explained, "I make good grades. My GPA is a 3.5."

Halley talked the schools where he plans to camp and one SEC school which has his attention.
