Ok, by now you have all seen my proposal for a 'better' football realignment, but I have something bigger in mind. In all of our analysis, breakdown, debate, and disagreements, I believe we can all agree that us as Arizona High School football fans, want what is best for these kids, right?
So, my proposal would be to convince the AIA to scrap their 3 year block idea, let them finish this year and come up with a better system for future years to come. Football is its own animal and cannot be directly compared with other sports in AZ. Therefore, the idea would be to get as much media, coaches, ADs on board that actually compete / watch / analyze these games every Friday night, to hash it out and come up with a system that is best for these kids. A formula comparing urban and rural schools is apples to oranges as we have all seen. Same with public vs private.
Natural rivalries are never meant to be broken, its what helps a community grow. We can do better than this and everybody believes so too.
