You got to be kidding! Boy talk about stereotyping. Farmers and Rancher are some of the most ingenious individuals you can find. While surviving off the land, running small businesses and/or large businesses, they are providing us with our needs.
My wife comes from ranching/farming families, both sides. One of the least successful cousin gross over 200K in one week truck farming and he has a bunch of weeks left. That isn’t counting income from a small herd of cattle and other live stock. I doubt if you will earn that in five years.
Hi Eclipse. I'm wh0farted. Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZvT2r828QY
<sigh/smh> It's getting old that "today" it seems like there are a lot of raw nerves out there. It seems like some people are "offended" at all kinds of things. They go around almost looking for things that "offend" them. They start with, "you gotta be kidding...", as if someone has cut in line and taken the last seat on the teacup ride. They have their hammer out and see everything is a nail. Heck, JerryMop and others have even made a living out having these gaping emotional wounds and those salty words and misperceived actions cause "great grievance".
Relax brother. All of America knows that the farmer and his/her (don't want to offend anyone) values are what made our country the greatest ever.
But then you deflect with, "Not all he kids and parents that review this site are familiar with the movie or your intent (sic)." It isn't the posters fault that you don't have a clue about what's being referenced. Quit blameshifting. Own up.
Let me give you some farmer's advice: before you pile drive someone (who may end up needing some tough love), research the thing that you think is offending you. My dad (who grew up on a farm) used to tell us kids to "Think BEFORE you speak" and "It's better to shut up and be thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt." Once you are solid in your assessment and you still feel the need to "hammer", go for it. It happens all the time on this site.
Why have we reached the point in society that people are SO sensitive and everything offends them? It's a simple and funny quote on his signature from a great movie it was not a slam at anyone. People just need to get thicker skin. What's next a lawsuit or pass a law that will prevent him from posting a quote from a movie online??? Geez people
If he's that upset over Blazing Saddles, I can't imagine how he'd feel if he saw something like "Can I Do It 'till I Need Glasses" or "If You Don't Stop It....You'll Go Blind". The former of course featured Robin Williams in his first film role. Though his scenes were cut because presumably they didn't measure up to the quality of the other segments, like where the Lone Ranger gets bit by a snake in the crotch and Tonto doesn't want to suck the poison out.
"Give me but one firm spot on which to stand, and I will move the earth."
From now on, I think all posters with a signature automatically populating at the end of their posts should have to explain what the context is in every subsequent post. It's only the responsible thing to do. This way the real morons...ahem....sorry, the real innocent, can't be offended so easily because of their own ignorance to the statements made. If only the original poster would have referenced the Blazing Saddles line in every one of his hundreds of previous posts, we could have avoided this mess.
Either one of the funniest post threads in azcentral/24-7/ scouts history or the most telling thread in regards to what our society has become with hyper-tech sensitivity. I wish we were as cautious about stupid football comments as it seems we are about socially flawed comments. I have been doing this with Tweeds and a couple others since 2001. The ONLY way we continue to exist and advance the conversation on this site is if we take obligatory or ignorantly founded comments with a grain of salt and take the advancement of this site with the utmost importance and integrity. We can laugh at those thinking agricultural sciences have been attacked, but keep it as a reminder that we must always police this site to make sure it doesn't slide into enigmatic vitriol. Carry on.
This is what happens when the disease of liberalism starts really infecting society. Please don't turn me into the thought police, because if I have to go in front of the PC board I might get the death penalty. How about if we paint the white house in rainbow colors, oh wait Obama already did.
