So after reading these posts, and not having watched the entire game, Bishop Gorman is not that good of a team? Yet they beat Chandler by 21 points? So Chase Lucas is a 28 point difference for Chandler? If that is the case then he is either vastly underrated, or Chandlers QB and WR's are vastly overrated.
The Reality is that Bishop Gorman has been nationally a top 25 team for about the last 10 years. And for the last five years they have been a nationally top 10 team. Chandler is a good team, Nationally I don't see them being a top 25 team. With Chase Lucas the game would have been closer but the results I think would have been the same. I think AZ high school football is well on its way up in the national ranks, but we have seen the best in AZ lose to the best in the nation so far. A few years ago a supremely talented Mt. Pointe team beat the breaks off of Bishop Gorman. So I think AZ high school football is on the verge of being able to put out 1 to 2 national top 25 teams year in and year out. However you look at the states who year in and year out have multiple top 25 teams, Texas, California, Florida, Ohio, Alabama, Georgia. These states have two things going for them, 1) great talent pool and 2) resources. I think AZ HS football has just as much of a talent pool in the Phoenix Metroplex as any of those states. But the resources are not being put into the HS football programs to the level that these other states have. It is improving, but not there yet.
