There is not an extra division. Division 6 becomes 1A and plays 8 man. There are 2A-6A (5 Conferences) of 11 man football and 1A of 8 man. Right now there are D-1 through D-5 of 11 man football and D-6 of 8 man. Five 11 man and 1 eight man.
It is slight of hand man. They have you confused with math. Same thing happens to kids in algebra. Addition and subtraction totally makes sense and then blam... they start adding letters to it. I think it is the "A" that is throwing you off.
I don't put much weight into it since its not a completely fair comparison on account of them adding a division and going from 5 divisions to 6 divisions.
Desert Ridge will be 6A after being D-I. No change.
Centennial will be 5A after being D-I.
Saguaro will be 4A after being D-II.
Marcos will be 4A after being D-II.
Paradise Valley will be 5A after being D-III. They actually move up.
Desert Edge will be 5A after being D-III. They actually move up.
Northwest Christian will be 3A after being D-IV.
Pusch Ridge will be 3A after being D-IV.
Joy Christian will be 2A after being D-V.
Benson will be 2A after being D-V.
Since there's an extra division and everything is even, there's bound to be some "movement".
Another way to look at it is:
1 of the 10 will be 6A.
3 of the 10 will be 5A.
2 of the 10 will be 4A.
2 of the 10 will be 3A.
2 of the 10 will be 2A.
Not that remarkable really.

I think you missed his point completely... Centennial is a D2 team based on enrollment right now, Marcos D3 enrollment, Saguaro D3 enrollment, NWC D5 enrollment, Pusch Ridge D5 enrollment, Joy D6 enrollment.Or did I miss his point completely, LOL.
