I had this discussion with a buddy of mine yesterday. Wanted to throw it out to the board. In the last few weeks we have seen coaches step down from good jobs to pursue admin jobs. Have also seen it in the past, ie Huffine to Coronado. I don't blame those guys at all. Make more money, spend more time with family, move up, etc.
My question is, in a state like Texas, coaches are full time coaches, not guys making a 5 thousand dollar stipend. It's tough to justify making roughly 400 dollars a month now with football basically being year round.
Does this stuff happen in Texas? Should our coaches be paid like those guys? If so, would guys step down?
Just questions to throw out there during this slow time.
