Put over 120 miles on my car Sat. Went to Youngker for their Battle of Buckeye event and then over to Cactus for their Stars and Stripes event and then over to Scottsdale for the Nike 7on7.
Saw a ton of teams. General recap
Verrado won Buckeye Tourney with Gila Ridge winning Big Man.
Teams there: Youngker, Verrado, Gila Ridge, Buckeye, Sierra Linda, Millennium, Mt. Ridge, Antelope, NW Christian, Tonopah, Florence, Carl Hayden and Estrella Foothills.
I stayed for round robin portion and then went over and watched big man. Verrado was #1 seed.
Big man was cool. Jones Ford sponsored it. Probably 10 teams were there and the event was actually in the dealership. The did truck push, tire flips and and tug of war with big truck in the middle. Pretty creative and original.
I jumped in the car and made it over to Cactus just as big man was getting over. Cactus won the big man. They just did a round robin for 7on7, no true winner.
Teams there were Cactus, Thunderbird, Apollo, Poston Butte, Campo Verde, Westview, Desert Mountain and OConnor.
Then I went over and made it for the final four of the Nike 7on7 in Scottsdale. Mt. Pointe and Horizon faced off in semis with Chandler and Basha on the other side of the bracket.
Mt Pointe won pretty easily and Chandler and Basha came down to lat play with Basha prevailing.
Mt. Pointe beat Basha by 2 scores in championship I believe.
There is another big 7on7 tonight at Central, but I am calling it a day.
