Desert Ridge has more coming back than any of the other big players in 6A. Bottom line on national rankings is these guys take a quick glance at how many guys have offers and disregard any questions about depth, cohesion, coaching, etc, etc, etc. These are the same people (or same sort of people) that routinely ranked DeLaSalle beneath squads they'd eventually beat by two scores.
"You've got to remember, that these are just simple farmers, these are people of the land, the common clay of the new west. You know . . . morons."
Much of the same this year in 6A( minus CeHS since they are 5A now) with the usual suspects on top and everyone else fighting for a participation ribbon in my opinion. I see it being MP, Ham, Chandler, DR, Brophy and a glimmer of hope for Pinnacle.
If it comes down to lineman play and judging from what I saw at the ASU lineman challenge, MP is heads above everyone else. They brought instensity and smash mouth play...Hamilton was right there as well, but Chandler looked mediocre and lacked intesity. MP looked very good..
Chandler was the #1 seed after all the field events in the Big Man at ASU.
They beat Hamilton head to head in the 1 on 1's and dominated almost all the teams they went against. Desert Edge was actually the most competitive group they went against in the 1 on 1's. Was exited to see them go against Mnt Pointe but it didn't happen.
Just out of curiosity how do you bring "smash mouth" play to pass rush/protection 1 on 1's ???
Anyway, if that's the results when Chandler brings no intensity then what's going to happen when they actually try hard ????
Ill say it again. If Chandler can get back to being hungry and fighting for everything during the season they will be right there in the end. Last year they got caught up in the "hype" of being the previous years Champion as well as the circus of having the 2 star players standing behind podiums to receive jerseys to national all star games. Talent alone wont win the Ship as they discovered last year.

So are you saying they were the Chandler of old then last year? :-):-)
They definitely lacked the same fire and intensity they displayed in 2014. Even the pep rally's were smaller and lack luster at best. Maybe it was the leadership on the field with B Perkins on O and Moran on D but whatever the case, last years team had no business bowing out like they did.
