I actually went to this game and have seen them play a couple of times this year too. It was a very sloppy game on both ends and the Bejarano kid did not impress anyone watching that game from an offensive standpoint. He is head and shoulders above anyone on the court, it is obvious, but his offense was horrible, and that is being kind. They were very lucky to win, and it did not appear that they got much else from the team. The big kid, not sure of his name is an absolute animal. Defensively he blocks just about anything that comes his way, he is like a high school Barkley size wise...not much else but I bet he had 5 or more blocks and was called for a couple of close calls or it would have been 7-10 blocks for the game. The kids sitting around us said that the team was "off", but like I said they were about the same as I had seen this season.
I've seen Bejarano four times this year. He's been off and on, but a terrific talent and athletically gifted. I notice he pulls up more rather take it to the hoop. He's not getting fouled as much and doing that also takes him off the offensive boards. He was better as a soph. That being said, I've never seen a HS baller get as high as he does on his jump shots.
