This was a fantastic game. Bagdad played with a precision I have never witnessed in a highschool football game before. PDSD played their hearts out, no quit whatsoever. But the best part was the level of sportsmanship between the two teams. They were hitting hard, and then helping eachother up, patting eachother on the back, shaking hands, and just showing respect to oneaother. At halftime I was talking to my son, when Laken Yargus came over with the head referee who wanted to talk to them. He told them that he was amazed at the level of sportsmanship he was witnessing during the game. He congratulated them on their efforts and wanted them to share that with the team. It is clear that the Bagdad coaches and players have resolve to play the game at a higher level, in execution and sportsmanship.
During life we all make mistakes. Heavens knows I have made my share, probably more than most. I believe...no, I know that true character is most evident in how we adjust/respond, and remain consistent in those efforts. We'll done.
