This is the same crap the GC faithful spewed last year after the loss to Bagdad. It's really just another indication proving the point that their program is soured. Spend some time this offseason building some character, clean up your act and then come back and talk with the way you play. Who knows, you may make it past the semis. And correct me if I am wrong, but did you guys forget the point of being a Christian school?
Cry foul all you want, say that I am not winning with class. But I KNOW BS when I see it, and I will call it as is.
Here's the deal, GC gave up 60 pts, and Bagdad's RB had more yardage than the whole GC Offense! The score was 60 to 25, yes Bagdad was complaining about blatant punches & chop blocks in the open field on kick off returns. GC didn't chest up anyone, they got worked for the 3rd straight year. Every year GC preached how they are in better shape & every year Bagdad's side of the scoreboard is in better shape cuz it just keeps adding points until the end. Bagdad's RB ran for 283 yards on a a defense that was 6 in the box all night long. You have to run physically to do that!
Yes GC did have some kids hurt! Basically, once that happened everyone knew that they had a built in excuse for the loss they were going to take. Bagdad is NOT as talented as they were last year and it was the same results. The score was limited because the uptempo high octane GC offense went slow down grind out the clock (to save embarrassment) and Bagdad went away from their game plan in the 3rd qtr, only to come back to in the 2nd half of the 4th qtr to continue to gash GC!
56 to 12, 66 to 34, and 60 to 25, the last 3 scores of the 2 teams, all in Bagdad's favor! Different year same results!!! You never hear Bagdad complaining about who they don't have, just teaching kids to step up and replace the ones that are hurt. Why don't you take a little pride in stopping people instead of scoring 80 to 90 points on the "weak sisters of the fairy plains" and then maybe just maybe you'll make it to the "Next Level"!
Colt - "White Trash Miners", Really? You must be a student because you don't sound like an adult. Bagdad also had a key starter out. No excuses here. Wait, I forgot. No need for excuses. Sultans win. BTW----Football isn't al us "white trash miners" have. Got a pretty decent baseball team too.
The most difficult games to officiate are blowout playoff games. One team is going home seasons over, nothing to lose, while the other is moving on, has a lot to lose like a key injury or ejected player. Generally, the behavior of the losing team, from fans to coaches to players is pretty poor. Looking for a fight, looking to injure someone, saying things they typically would not say, and simply acting the fool. It is imperative the team winning, with everything to lose understands this, and does not retaliate. Close games never deteriorate to that level. There is some saying that you determine the character of an individual not in times where everything is going their way, but when things are at there worst.
Move on, get better, and as one of my old coaches told me a long, long time ago. The games over, we lost, no need to compound that by behaving like an a$$.
