You might ask why I'm posting this over here in the small school section. I know it's a story that actually made headlines and was talked about and is even part of a criminal investigation by the police in California. We all know about it or at least are vaguely aware of PV's issues this offseason.
What I find is funny about it is the wording used, the "rapid descent" of the program. Why that's funny to me is that while PV is a solid program, they reached the D3 title game last year, there is a much more interesting and much more rapid descent story about another program. I think we all know who I'm talking about. That seems a lot more interesting to me.
So I wonder if that will get any coverage at all, considering I think they're due for an even more dramatic drop off. PV was not going to be a favorite in 5A this year after losing 95% of their offensive production from last year. They weren't picked to win their region and were at best a marginal playoff contender. However the other program, they were picked by many to repeat as state champions or at least be a contender and were definitely the favorite to win their region, even by AZCentral.
So where is that story?
