Lets get the discusion going. This game has everything it needs to be great. 2 coaches going for yet another ring. 2 explosive backs in baker and baldwin. who is better? we will find out. The best 2 defenses in the state both extremely fast and hit extremely hard. 2 good qb's. poudrie does what it takes to win and maner the best athlete in 1a. lets break it down. Now i was there at the game early in the season and i have seen joe city play bagdad as well. I have seen mogollon play bagdad joecity and valley luthren and that is what i will base my opinion off of.
Coaching- this ones a toss up. slade is a great coach that can win at any level. and bryant i have lost count of how many rings he has
quarterback- advantage mogollon. Maner is so gifted with both his arm and his legs. its a pretty site to watch.
runningback- advantage joecity. Baker is a stud but im sorry remington is playing like a man possesed this year. capeable of putting the team on his back
recievers- advantage mogollon. neiter team throws that much so its hard to tell but maner throws a bullet and this recievers the gaylor brothers dont drop balls.
offensive line- advantage joecity. this line makes some big holes for baldwin
deffensive line- advantage mogollon. they have some BIG boys on the defensive front not to mention gaylor who is leading 1a in sacks and crandelle who is extremly fast.
linebackers- this one is a toss up as well both teams have great backers
DB's- advantage mogollon. although heward is a lockdown corner i am not impressed with JC's other DB i beleive its miller. Willis is lockdown and Reidhead can step up and make tackles.
Special teams- Advantage joecity. Remington Baldwin returning kicks enough said.
This is gonna be an oustanding game, a big question is poudrie's thumb. will he be able to throw? if not it is gonna be tough for joe city even though their strength is on the ground they will need to mix it up to beat mogollon. Big plays might decide this game as it did last time these teams played with the hail marry grab by gaylor before half and the willis pick after half. also 2 point conversions will be huge as it was last time. Look for joe city to make the nessary adjustments. but will it be enough? I think this will be the best state game since the 06 mayer mogollon game. my prediction mogollon 38 Joecity 30.

Although I prefered the final result of the '06 title game, the '05 game between Mayer and Pima was far more exciting. Big plays. Lead changes. Key turnovers at key times. Key plays on 3rd and 4th down. A roughing the center call that gave Pima a 1st down with 3 minutes to go... Etc. etc. etc.
In the '06 game, Mayer was very much in control the whole way. Mogollon made it an 8 point game with a late TD.
I think Poudrier should be fine. I was watching him warm up with his receivers before the Bagdad game and he looked like he was throwing fine. JC 48 Mogollon 44. Mogollon will have the lead with a few minutes left and Baldwin will break a big special teams play to win it
Remember, JC doesn't kick so can't score in the odd numbers unless on a PAT run attempt, the ball gets away from Poudrier's hands as he's trying to handoff and it hits Baldwin's toe, careens off Fafita's helmet as he's charging in, and has enough lift to just make it over the cross bar.
